Who organises this? How "official" is it? -217.158.106.66 (22 Oct 2002)

its not official at all... it appears to be made up? -84.66.143.96 (22 Oct 2005)
External links now in article show the Day is recognised by some organisations. BTW, whoever chose the date — two-two — must've had a sense of humour! Bezapt 14:38, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
There's nothing funny about stuttering. And it's twenty-two, not two-two. Headhitter (talk) 11:52, 31 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Stuttering as a speech disorder is much different than the stuttering you're referencing that "everybody" does. The stuttering that is a speech disorder centers around the inability to produce a certain sounds, such as the "S" sound or the "W" sound. Have you ever known you wanted to say an S sound, but couldn't get yourself to say it? I didn't think so. Fredsmith2 17:26, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Long name

Try saying "International Stuttering Awareness Day" with a stutter... This is so stupid... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.83.128.14 (talk) 08:45, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Youtube

edit

With all the video sites like youtube becoming really big, you can see that stutter is a widespread problem. You never see the big actors stutter, because if you are famous, your content is quickly cached by the content distribution network, like limewire which can stream the video completely without stutter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.213.5.58 (talk) 13:40, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh, awesome comment. I lol'ed! - 210.80.189.226 (talk) 04:23, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Huh? Who cares how many Americans? Since when is this Conservapedia?

edit

The day is intended to raise the public awareness of the millions of people who have the speech disorder of stuttering, including over 3 million Americans[2].

As this is an international day, I've deleted the reference to three million Americans and added citations from France, Slovakia, the UK and Cameroon. Headhitter (talk) 09:40, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
