Merging ITHF table hockey

- To not merge as proposed, given that the topics are distinct; and with no consensus for alternative merge or rename proposals, with stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 22:06, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
I don't see the purpose of the ITHF table hockey article. International Table Hockey Federation covers the organization, its rules and tournaments; Table hockey games covers the concept of the game itself. This would appear to be a WP:CFORK. 162 etc. (talk) 17:10, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- ITHF covers the major tournaments only (as FIFA in football). Usually, kind of sports have its governing organization and different articles about sport and the main organization because they are different subjects, consequently, it is not content forking. --Egilus (talk) 17:24, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- The sport and its organization should indeed have separate articles. My disagreement is with the idea that ITHF table hockey and Table hockey games are separate sports. My proposal is to have the latter article renamed as Table hockey (currently in RM), and use International Table Hockey Federation for the organization, its specific ruleset, and competitions. I'll also note that the article at ITHF table hockey is lacking in secondary sources; all the references point back to ithf.info. 162 etc. (talk) 19:18, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Then it generally doesn't relation to International Table Hockey Federation - merging of ITHF table hockey, Table hockey and Table hockey games is another theme and I no have serious contraversions for it. I did such merging in Latvian version but my English is bad therefore I don't wish by own initiative do it in this Wiki. Article in Latvian version (in fact it is mine "authorized", it is typical in small Wikis) contains enough info about another versions of this game (more than in English Table hockey games) but regard ITHF version as the main. In my eyes the ideal would be translation of Latvian version to English, except specifically Latvian part :) (And yes, the big table about World Table Hockey Tour in English article I regard as not necessary.) Then the idea about merging should be moved from here to Table hockey games, I think :)
- About primary sources - I can find many sources but not in comfortable for this Wiki languages. Russian, Latvian, Finnish etc. ... English-language countries are weak in this sport and little write about it. --Egilus (talk) 19:45, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Please add those sources. Foreign language sources are way better than no sources. ⛐Boivie (talk) 06:14, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

- I think ITHF table hockey might not be the best name for that article. Maybe Table hockey (sport) would be better? Because the sport started with the Swedish Championship 1982, and ITHF was not founded until 2005. ⛐Boivie (talk) 06:14, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- Then we should remember also the Table Hockey World Championship in 1971, but it was not on Stiga... --Egilus (talk) 06:43, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
