Indians in Pakistan

edit

As per Cricinfo [1], the series has been pushed back. The test matches will start on Jan 14 instead of Jan 5. Can someone please verify this is correct? Can I update the schedule on this page? - Ganeshk 17:56, 22 December fuck (UTC)

Found a reference on rediff.com and updated the schedule. ODI schedule does not sound right though since the last test ends on Feb 3rd. - Ganeshk 17:56, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Found the five rescheduled ODI dates on cricketarchive, so they're now updated and sorted. Sam Vimes 21:40, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Chronological order

edit

I am thinking this article would be organized much better (chronologically) if we add month headers first and then put all the series under it as a sub-heading. For example,

==January==
===Indians in Pakistan===

Your thoughts? -Ganeshk 07:01, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Probably wise. I think it's chronological now (by start of series), but I agree that 45 sections is a slight overkill. I'll do it now. Sam Vimes 10:39, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Um, could you tell me why the whole of 2006 is now before 2005? It seems odd to have them in non-chronological order - perhaps the years should be written after the headings (so ==January 2006==) but that's no reason to have April 2006 come just before August 2005? Sam Vimes 17:33, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I fixed the mess. I was thinking the page is listing only the 2006 ones. Now its back to where it was. Sorry about that. - Ganeshk 19:39, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I updated the Template for 05-06 too. Please check and let me know if that is okay. - Ganeshk 23:07, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Lovely! Thanks. Merely going to make a few additions and remove the duplicate of England A in West Indies, but good otherwise Sam Vimes 23:52, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Template changes

edit

I added the Bangladesh v Sri Lanka. I added a new category to the template named International cricket competions in 2005-06. I have put this category under International cricket competions. It will better organize the matches. Hope that is fine with you. - Ganeshk 21:51, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

VB series

edit

does anyone have the exact results for the first 6 matches, which are now completed? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Doublez (talk • contribs) .

Check out the article itself. - Ganeshk (talk) 00:43, 25 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Next Year

edit

Seeing as April is the last month in the 2005-06 season, and only a month away, should someone not start laying out the template for the 2006 season or the 06-07 season? Tony2Times 01:59, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please check this. - Ganeshk (talk) 15:58, 5 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
According to this, all matches until July 2006 (New Zealand in Australia) should go into this article. Once we finish that, we could create a template for the 2006-07 season. -Ganeshk (talk) 07:05, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hm...how about these matches? Sam Vimes 07:13, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sam, was not sure. I feel they should go into 2005-06. What do you think? :) - Ganeshk (talk) 07:16, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
As we've got International cricket in 2005, I feel that although it is slightly nonsensical to non-cricket fans, we should use the common season designation and start a page on International cricket in 2006. Sam Vimes 08:06, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

ODI Template

edit

I have filled in all the relevent fields for the first ODI between India and England but nothing has showed up, can anyone explain why?Tony2Times 15:47, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Because of the comment tags <!-- and --> that were surrounding them. Now fixed. Sam Vimes 16:50, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks muchly. I'll have to remember that in future, by the way could there be/is there such a template for Test matches? Tony2Times 19:35, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, at {{First Class Matches}}. Sam Vimes 19:37, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, will make things a lot easier, shame it doesn't show top-two statistics of each side though, prefer it like that. Rather keep it all the same though.

Soz to be a complete hassle but tried using the First Class template in the Aussie/SA Third Test and its coming up blank, tried a few things, not a lot granted, can I be told what's wrong so I won't make the same mistake again. Tony2Times 20:30, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Fixed now. You enter data by putting {{First Class Matches as the first row, and then fields down like this
batting first flag = Flag of South Africa.svg |
batting first = South Africa |
Note the "|" to end each field. Sam Vimes 20:53, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ah I see, the template is somewhat misleading. Totally confused me, I'll get it in the future, hopefully no more hiccups. Tony2Times 21:51, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've put a notice on the template talk page which hopefully helps to explain it - and also explains how to use the template in case of a draw, an abandoned match, a tie or gargantuan spiders from Mars stops play Sam Vimes 21:53, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Could I start putting in that template, but blank, in the unplayed First Class matches so people stop using other methods, and surround it with the <!-- and --> paranthesis? Or would that mess something up?Tony2Times 12:10, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
