editIs the right term "Internet Explorer shell extension" instead of "Internet Explorer shell"? — 2004-12-29T22:45Z 14:40, 29 April 2005 (UTC)
- No. How are these applications "shell extensions" and not "shells"? I think you're confused about what a shell is. Confirm with Google; "Internet Explorer shell" is common terminology; "Internet Explorer shell extension" appears nowhere except in copies of the Wikipedia article after you renamed it. — mjb 18:59, 21 July 2005 (UTC)
Are there any open source IE shells?
editI am looking for a working GPL'd IE shell, as some of its code may be useful for this Firefox plugin/extension. (current extension version is here) --pile0nadestalk | contribs 03:00, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
IETab in Firefox
editWhat category does this ever-so-helpful widget fall under? It opens new tabs, Firefox-style, but using Internet Explorer windows. It effectively allows me to merge the two browsers at will, with minimal IE vulnerability. Does it count as an IE/Trident shell? AKismet 12:15, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- Basically, yes. -- Simxp 20:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Introduction POV
editFrom TFA: "...They share the bugs and Security vilnerabilities of the Trident engine". If these bug and security vulnerabilities were a major, well-referenced component of the Trident (layout engine) article, then this sentence might be justified; as it is, nothing of the sort is even mentioned in the Trident article and as such that sentence just reads POV. Any objections to removing it? -- Simxp 20:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
