Lead sentence

It's hard to know what "...is a community and gathering place" means. You can read several sentences of the article, and still not know if it is a corporation with a headquarters building, an organization with a website, a site with only an online presence, or something else. That should be very clear after the first sentence. The date it was launched, and where, probably belongs there too, or at worst in sentence two if that would make the lead sentence too long or awkward. See WP:LEADSENTENCE. Tone

There is a kind of corporate-speak WP:TONE in the article that needs to be purged. Terms like 'stakeholders', 'significant', 'influential', ' fostering an open and collaborative environment', while not forbidden expressions, all contribute to a sense of promotion or WP:PUFFERY, and make the article seem more like a PR piece and less like an encyclopedic article. The tone should be that of a sober, informative article written from a neutral position without exaggeration or hagiographic terms, unless supported by reliable sources that use those terms. Is frequently cited

You can't just make assertions like, The IIW has been frequently cited in numerous theses and dissertations even if it is true, if you are the one observing these frequent citations. It has to be based on a secondary source that makes that observation; then you can say it. Saying it based on what you found by researching how frequently it is cited, and then reporting your observations in the article is original research, and is expressly forbidden by Pillar Two of Wikipedia's Five Pillars.
