Prophecy
editI changed "This will both linguists and web users" to "This study is intended to benefit both linguists and web users." It doesn't seem appropriate to make predictions in an encyclopedia. -A — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.217.97.247 (talk) 03:51, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Semantic Web section -- any relation to the page title?
editI came here from a see also at Semantic Web. As currently written, I don't see how that section relates to Internet linguistics. Anybody care to improve it? Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 15:23, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback, we have removed it from the internet linguistics page to ensure the page does not deviate away from the main topic of discussion since it does not relate directly to Internet linguistics. More information on it could be found on the semantic web page itself. Lai eric (talk) 17:45, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

This GAN has been closed procedurally because the article is currently at WP:PR. Please do not nominate this article again until the Peer Review has been closed. Thank you. wackywace 07:22, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks wackywace for maintaining the standard protocol. The peer review wasn't closed properly earlier on, which resulted in the listing of two concurrent nominations (PR and GA). The PR has now been properly closed and archived by the nominator of the PR. Lai eric (talk) 14:28, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Twilight?
editWhat do grammatical mistakes in Twilight have to do with language on the internet? The link says nothing about the connection, only that grammatical mistakes exist in the books.
It seems ridiculous to construe literary grammatical mistakes as dangerously on the rise because the internet is ruining them- especially when your only source is a link that does not make any such argument 173.30.9.91 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 13:32, 15 December 2010 (UTC).
Unnecessary and Ridiculous
editWhere is the article on "television linguistics"? And the one on "radio linguistics"? and the one on "newspaper linguistics"? and the one on "book linguistics"?
The original proposal that there exists a branch of linguistics for the Internet is flawed and based on unsound science. Because the Internet is a medium of communication does not mean that it is worthy of abeing a "branch" of linguistics, as is evident from the proposer's classifying his analysis along several already existing lines, the chief among them being sociolinguistics.
This article should be renamed or deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexlange (talk • contribs) 15:19, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
