Original Aspirations
editSurprisingly, AARoads disputes the original claim that I-375 was part of a larger freeway plan. Unfortunately, very little proof (as in FDOT records) has been revealed as to whether these freeways were actually planned. 71.99.191.76 23:17, 4 August 2006 (UTC).
- There's an FDOT planning document from the 1970s at the UCF library that shows the large network. --SPUI (T - C) 10:23, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
I wish that Tampa Blog, www.bayciti.net was not shuttered. That website listed tons of info on the killed freeways. I wonder what sources the webmaster used to retrieve the information? Wslupecki 12:43, 5 August 2006 (UTC).
Exit Table and other things
editAs many of you may have noticed, I have added a brief exit list table to the I-375 article. This table is based on the table already in place for I-275 (FL). I may add a table for I-175 as well if time permits. Please feel free to comment about the table via my talk page.
Another item to note is the tanker incident that occurred on the I-375 on-ramp from I-275. Although I do have an urge to place this into the main article, I will not do so at this time. Mainly because I am not sure if the incident is "notable" enough to be placed within the main article. I have already observed similar instances in which such incidents were removed from transportation-related articles because of the incidents' lack of nobility (One example is is the Veterans Expressway article in which a 2002 tanker incident was removed from the article due to a lack of nobility). Instead, I will allow some input to be made before any addition of such is made to this article. Wslupecki 12:52, 29 March 2007 (UTC).
- Funny, I was just thinking the same thing myself about an hour ago. I was looking for precedent, and I think found some here (I specifically remember the '96 accident in Chester and that's what made me think to look here...it was all too similar), but I can't seem to figure out why it's not listed on the Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania page; is that a sign that it's not noteworthy and someone just hasn't removed it off Interstate 95, or someone hasn't added it to the PA page? In either case, if it's listed on the longest N-S interstate, I say it's definitely fine to list it here. EaglesFanInTampa (formerly Jimbo) 13:58, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Follow Up - 4/6/07: Looks like someone else had already posted the incident on the main page. As a result, I have expanded and rewritten the section and added a list of references. If anyone has any objections to the section, please list them here. Wslupecki 11:23, 6 April 2007 (UTC).
- Follow Up - 4/22/07: WTVT has reported this morning (on Good Day) that the I-375 flyover has REOPENED. Can someone confirm this for me please? I cannot find any articles at this time that states that the ramp has indeed reopened. Thanks. Wslupecki 17:44, 22 April 2007 (UTC).
- Follow Up - 4/23/07: Tampa Bay Interstates has confirmed that the I-375 flyover, which has been closed since March 28 has REOPENED. Wslupecki 12:30, 23 April 2007 (UTC).
- Misc. - 4/29/07 I placed a small tidbit on how the I-375 accident can be compared to the incident at the MacArthur Maze in Oakland, California. It is probably easy to compare the two incidents in terms of structural damage to the overpasses involved and the amount of traffic affected by the incidents. Wslupecki 02:51, 3 May 2007 (UTC).
- 5/31/07 I placed a photo of the overpass reconstruction within the section. The photo was taken during the early part of April. Wslupecki 03:22, 1 June 2007 (UTC).
