Harbour
editAlthough the harbour was originally built in the 1920s the local commmunity ran out of funding and the pier lay unfinished until the early 1980's when a local shop keeper took upthe mantle to upgrade the facility. The harbour received a SDA grant to develop the facility using WW2 tank traps, this also cleaned up the surrounding. The existing pier was extended and also a West pier was constructed to give an enclosed basin. Further development is currently taking place with a Lottery grant to deepen the harbour and install pontoon facilities so that the total berthing capacity of the harbour is doubled.Further information can be gleaned from the gala web site at www.invercairngala.co.uk where the harbour has a page and some photo's
Make a suggestion as to how I should have written "our twinned villages", is it wrong because I used "our"? Perhaps I should change it to "the twinned villages" or is it that you don't like the word "twinned"? I simply made this addition because no one else had, so I appreciate any help you lend. Might I also ask where you got the information about the harbour, I'm keen to learn more.
re. This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards.
editI've upgraded/enhanced the page (now combined as Inverallochy and Cairnbulg) towards meeting Wiki's quality standards - flagged since February 2006. The last few narrative paragraphs in the main text have, however, been left by myself for now. More still to do, I'm sure. :) Regards, David. Harami2000 17:37, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
