Advertising?

edit

I'm not sure about the policy on advertising (I couldn't find it) but if it is disallowed, this seems excessively promotional: "There are special devices specifically designed to draw out inverted nipples such as Supple Cups, which have been clinically proven[1] to correct inverted, flat and shy nipples." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Idaresay (talkcontribs) 23:51, 7 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have it too. Can someone find what are the causes of such a thing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.231.254.125 (talk) 07:52, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

My two year old son has two, YES TWO, inverted nipples. This article is all about women with inverted nipples, but what about the male pov? Can we get some male povs in here please???? 12.186.37.41 (talk) 01:07, 22 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I used to have one nipple inverted when I grew up. My parents never thought anything about it. When I was around 10 years old I intuitively started to play with it often and it started to come out more and more. At some point it stayed out (I think I was around 14-15 years old when that happened). Now it stays out all the time except if I take a long hot sauna, then it occasionally goes into like in the middle stage, not in or out but just basically flat. It is also still a little softer then the other nipple and I am 40 now. Just wanted to share. And yes, I am a guy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.71.209.38 (talk) 13:36, 16 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sexual

edit

Why is this in the sexual anatomy category? --chad 08:09, 1 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Because breasts are a secondary sexual characteristic. 86.150.96.24 (talk) 14:45, 30 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Language

edit

The language used in this article is rather juevanile. I think it calls for a cleanup. Tinman8443 20:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

pictures

edit

there should be pictures

another vote for pictures —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 159.105.80.92 (talkcontribs) 16:42, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

I think pictures would be appropriate considering the rare nature of this deformity. Tinman8443 20:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

For the record, I don't think that routinely referring to nipple inversion as a deformity is advisable, since it's not always permanent, and many people don't consider it a deformity in the first place. The current language in the article seems fine, but just a consideration. --Hurtstotouchfire 21:44, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

vote for pictures. Sense there is a female pic, maybe one of a inverted nipple on a man? EvilHom3r 13:03, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

if possible, yeah that would be great. I've had some experience gathering statistical information on nipple inversion though, and it seems much rarer (say, 10x) in men than in women. I think that simply having a couple of different photos would be good, the current one isn't the best example, and they do vary. --Hurtstotouchfire 21:44, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clarification?

edit

I just tried to organize the article a bit. I ended up rephrasing a few things for clarity's sake, but a few of the paragraphs just didn't make sense to me. In particular, the breastfeeding paragraph beginnging "Another treatment is to shape the nipple", while I sort of understood the concept, just seems garbled. If anyone knows what this user was trying to say and could clarify, that would be wonderful. Also, I don't know much about piercing, and the precaution about healing was somewhat confusing.--Joanna 04:33, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why do you find this insulting we are talking about nipples. If we were talking about faces and someone brought up nipples then you would have a valid argument. But we are talking about inverted nipples and nowhere in the talk do i see people calling them monsters so god day my sir.

Breastfeeding issues - more than the average?

edit
Some women with inverted nipples report pain or soreness associated with breastfeeding.

First, this claim is unsourced, second (and because it's unsourced), it's hard to tell if this is supposedly more common among people with inverted nipples than otherwise. Because while breastfeeding, it's fairly common among women to feel some pain or soreness, regardless of if nipples are inverted or not. -- Northgrove 20:48, 14 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

While this is an unsourced comment, I can tell you with certainty that it's very true, and definitely worth having in the article. We should look for sources, but it shouldn't be removed. --Hurtstotouchfire

Inverted Nipples

edit

The article makes mention of Inflammatory Breast Cancer or Sheet Breast Cancer, then has a footnote that goes to an outside website that states the inverted nipple is nothing about which to be concerned. We need to insert another footnote to:

Trivia section

edit

I deleted it. It added nothing to the article, and was thoroughly unencyclopedic. 173.79.181.148 (talk) 21:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC) (Merpin)Reply
