GA review (see here for criteria)

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose):   b (MoS):
"The streets of Elkader are influenced by the Turkey River, which flows from the northwest to southeast.", perhaps elaborate on this.
Elaborating would have caused me to basically write the same sentence twice, so I reworded that and the sentence before it.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
I would suggest removing the sentence "However, Primary Road No. 56's length past Elkader was not to last." as it does not flow well with the history.
    I reworded it instead.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
I dont think the IADOT map can reference "Being a largely rural route, it passes through the rolling farmland of Fayette and Clayton counties.". Try using Google Maps here.
But it can reference it going through the two counties and it being a largely rural route. Iowa's kind of known for its farmland, I really don't think that needs to be cited.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
Can some more descriptive information about the route be added to the lead, such as about its physical surroundings? The lead looks a little short for a 24-mile road.
    How's that look?
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

I will put the article on hold for some fixes to be made. Dough4872 00:19, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
