Adding countries to the visa-free section

For those editors who add countries such as Armenia, Georgia, Mongolia and etc: please search different sources and find out the most accurate information. the countries named above have "visa on arrival" only for Iranian diplomatic and special passport holders not the ordinary ones. So please do not waste your time with adding useless information because they are only misleading.Majalinno (talk) 07:45, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Nicaragua

Even though the IATA database at [1] says that Iranians don't need a visa for 90 days, the website of the Nicaraguan ministry of foreign affairs at http://www.cancilleria.gob.ni/servicios/visas.shtml says otherwise. So I removed Nicaragua from the list for the time being, as I believe this is probably a mistake in the IATA database. Can someone confirm this one way or the other ? Indonesia

Based on the information of this page Indonesia issue visas on arrival for Iranian passport holders. However, I was deported on arrival in 1995 for not having a visa! I am not sure if the regulations have changed since then.

Visa Free entry during the Pahlavi Dynasty?

There are no official source for it, but I've seen entry stamps of Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the UK, Japan and Denmark in Iranian passports from before the 1979 revolution. These are the ones I know.Majalinno (talk) 23:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Back in the 60s and 70s many countries in Western Europe did not have visa requirements after gaving abolished them in the 1950s. Germany did not re-introduce visa requirements again until 1972, France didn't even introduce visas for most countries until 1986, so I suspect quite a number of countries will have been visa free for Iranians in the 1970s. Early in the 1970's Iranian nationals could enter either visa-free or receive entry stamps upon arrival in over 100 countries. This was also the case for Iranians entering all Western European countries.

Visa-free Section

The visa-free sections of the passport pages are constantly being vandalized by some people. Moreover, countries change the laws regarding visa-free regulations from time to time; thus, the information provided may not be correct. "not valid for travel" vs. "referring"

I noticed this edit, and don't understand why this is considered an NPOV problem. It is clear from the source that "occupied Palestine" is used to refer to Israel. Please note that occupied Palestine redirects to Palestinian territories. The way it looks to me, the bare quote without the context equating it to Israel would misrepresent the source. If you don't like Hessamnia's paraphrase, I suggest expanding the quote to

“ Israel also figures into the peculiar regulations Iranian journalists must contend with. The fine print of my Iranian passport clearly states that "the bearer of this passport is forbidden from traveling to occupied Palestine." ”

Per this edit, I have changed the statement and the reference accordingly. I also qualified "bear" to "may bear", as the source talks about journalists, and it is not totally clear that this travel inhibition applies to all Iranian passports. Can someone clarify this issue?
