A bit of an unfair classification of "half-bred", his sire's maternal family ultimately traces to half-bred family one but that was over nine generations back in 1815 with pure-breed influence since then (just never included in stud book since a mare is always "half-bred" if the maternal family is half-bred). Irish Elegance was probably 99.9% Thoroughbred by the time he ran 100 years after the only true half-bred mare was in his pedigree.
