Charts

edit

I think Irreplaceable is a great song and the fact that it's doing so great on charts over the world is amazing. It is moving really fast on the Billboard Hot 100 and i hope it reaches number 1. I admit she went a little over the top with Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm but she settled it down with this one and everyone I know loves it.

Chart Trajectories

edit

Whoever deleted the chart trajectories can you not do it again it is more informative and makes the artical larger. I've put some of them back because I can't remember the rest whoever knows more official chart Trajectories for Irreplaceable feel free to add them.

--They also deleted it off Deja Vu and Ring The Alarm.

-- I just found out that trajectories are unnessacery and that they are deleting them from articals this is stupid they were more informative and more intresting for the articals

What the heck is an 'artical"???66.210.114.195
I think they are things that are very unnessacery and intresting. - eo 23:55, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

YES.THEY ARE INTERESTING.BECAUSE PEOPLE DO LIKE THOSE BECAUSE THEY WANNA SEE HOW MUCH IT JUMPS SPOTS AND STUFF..TAKING THEM DOWN WAS A DUMB IDEA.......................

People also like to see the music video. But Wikipedia is not Youtube, nor is it an indiscriminate collection of information. 17Drew 10:55, 15 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Switch the date

edit

Can someone please fix the date on the billboard hot 100? Some idiot put December 16, 2006. 75.3.120.43 05:09, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, whoever put December 16 is not an idiot, because this is the correct date. I know that this particular date may not have occurred yet, but that is the date given to the chart on which "Irreplaceable" first reached number one. The Billboard Hot 100 article explains that the Hot 100 is dated according to the day on which the chart ends, not the day on which it begins, hence the reason that the song's peak position date seems to have been forward-dated. The official Billboard website for this week's chart [1] will confirm that the date on which "Irreplaceable" first reached number 1 is in fact December 16, 2006.--Phil500 (Talk / Contribs) 06:51, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Video Version

edit

Does anyone notice the differences between the album and video version? when the video was first released, the background music had no difference, but then after a few weeks released, the music is so different and cooler, much cooler actually.. they got different music instruments, most noticeable at the bridge. So,my point is, how come there's no "video version" on the cd-single? where can I get it? I've been lookin' for it on some file sharing programs but i can't find it...

you are right.. I was wondering where i can get that too.. I prefer the video version much much more instead of the album version. Can anybody help please?? i was hoping that the video version would replace the album version of the song on the re-release edition of B'Day, but nonetheless.. its all the same..... i love the video version so much.. HELP!!

"Bush vs. Beyonce" music video

edit

I think there should be some mention of the "Bush vs. Beyonce" music video parody. It had an impact on the song because it first suggested there may be political overtones in the lyrics. The video was created by Keith Petrower and can be viewed here: http://www.BUSHvsBEYONCE.com --BeyonceFan85 12:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

I tried to add that info but Bots keep deleting it just because it's a YouTube link. Can anyone help? KeithAllen 22:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Chart Performance

edit

The chart dates should be updated every week. You can just look at the billboard chart and it will tell you the current issue date. Jdot01 07:16, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ne-Yo wrote 100% of the song, Beyonce just helped out with the melody LOL COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can somebody incorporate that information into the article, I don't know how to word it exactly —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.31.68.14 (talk) 17:51, 2 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Wow I've never seen so much information and analysis just for one song. Incredible. It speaks a lot for the success of this song and possibly the climax of Beyonce's career as a solo artist. Hopefully she can continue on this path. 167.88.178.70 18:03, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi This is Journee and i have never seen thins much on here either!!!!

The "male version"?

edit

There is a male version out by someone called "B Boy Truth" called "To The Right". It's HILARIOUS, and here's a link to a stream. I think it's really important to note this, as she incorporates parts of it into her live performance (notably the horns before the first chorus and the repetition of "get to thinkin'" before the last chorus), as well as how well known it is. I can't find any info on "B Boy Truth" though. Ian-sama 08:18, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

And apparently, there's another "response" done by Papoose on Streetsweepers Presents Papoose: The 4th Quarter Assassin: Holiday Hitman also called "To the Right". Ian-sama 05:18, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sugarland

Shouldn't it be mentioned that she performed this song at the American Music Awards with Sugarland? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.242.227 (talk) 05:13, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Temporary removal

edit

The track "Freakum Dress" was initially the third single for US single and the second international single, however due to the underperformance of the single "Ring The Alarm" "Irreplaceable" was rush released because of its high popularity.

"Irreplaceable" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on December 16, 2006, making Beyoncé's eighth Billboard number-one, and her fourth as a solo artist (her first without a guest rapper)

. It has sold over two million copies in digital sales.[1] It was the last U.S. #1 of 2006 and the first of 2007. It was also the #1 song of 2007, according to the year-end Billboard chart.

"Irreplaceable" was the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single for ten weeks, and has received world wide critical acclaim. In the United States, it has become the most successful song of her solo career. In December of 2006, a Spanish version of "Irreplaceable" entitled "Irreemplazable" was released, which appears on her Spanish-language EP Irreemplazable. This remix has peaked on #4 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs. It has also been faring fairly well on charts in Latin countries and was included in her re-release of B'Day.

It is nominated in the 'Record of the Year' category at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards to be held February 2008. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 08:02, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Needs sources

edit

A commercial U.S. CD single of "Irreplaceable" was released on January 9, 2007 for purchase. As of January 2008, the song had sold over 3,000,000 copies in digital downloads been certifiated 3 times platinum by RIAA and a further 180,000 across various other formats in the United States. "Irreplaceable" sold 267,000 copies in digital downloads in a week of January 2007, surpassing Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie", which sold 265,000 copies in a week in June 2006. Later in January 2007, Fergie's "Fergalicious" surpassed "Irreplaceable", selling 295,000 downloads in a single week. "Irreplaceable" was the most successful single of 2006 on the Billboard Hot 100, staying at number one for ten weeks, three weeks more than Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack". Overall, it had the longest run at number one on the Hot 100 since Kanye West's "Gold Digger" (featuring Jamie Foxx), which held the summit for ten weeks in 2005. The song surpassed Knowles' "Baby Boy" (featuring Sean Paul) to become her most successful single on the Hot 100 as a solo artist. On the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 chart, "Irreplaceable" spent seven weeks at number one making it Knowles' most successful song on the chart to date. "Irreplaceable" tied Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie with seven weeks at number one but finished the year at number two behind "Big Girls Don't Cry". Beyonce's previous number one on the chart was the Swizz Beatz produced Check On It which featured fellow Houston native Slim Thug, spending 4 weeks at the summit of the chart.

Much of the single's success depended on its considerable airplay. On December 11, 2006,"Irreplaceable" passed the 200 million audience impressions mark in the United States, according to Mediabase. This achievement made Beyoncé one of two artists to have one or two songs pass the 200 million impression mark in a single year; the other artist was Mariah Carey in 2005 (with "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off"). "Irreplaceable" had major cross-over success, becoming the first song to simultaneously occupy the number-one position on twelve Billboard charts on the week ending December 30, 2006, including the Hot 100, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Pop 100, Mainstream Top 40, and Rhythmic Top 40 charts. "Irreplaceable" had the best radio audience week of Beyoncé's career and the second-best sum in the chart's history, with 201.9 million audience impressions. Only Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" bested that total; it garnered 223 million impressions during a week in July 2005.[2] I have to find sources for some of these. Than you. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 06:36, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • The video also peaked at number one on Yahoo! Music Top 100.

Awkward Grammar

edit
  • Some of the passages are really awkwardly written. It seems like they were written by someone (Scandanavian?) without a native grasp of English. Would someone please clean it up? Thanks!
If you believe there all awkward, please copy edit it. Its currently on WP:FAC. --Efe (talk) 00:42, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Frankly I don't see where the awkward grammar is. What exactly is it that you are referring to ? Mortyman (talk) 23:25, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Don't know too. It was an IP's concern. Maybe he saw some not-so-good-grammar prior to this article's FA promotion. --Efe (talk) 07:48, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Recording history

edit

I have read a news from mediatakeout.com that it was Max Gousse, A&R for Music World, who convinced Knowles to record the song. It would be a good information to fill in the gaps of the background section; however, the source isn't reliable. Does anyone here has a link of a more reliable source? --Efe (talk) 08:44, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Live performances section

edit

Is the content in Live perfomances really warranted? Some of the information, such as that the audience often sings the beginning, could be included. And a few unique performances perhaps. But it seems like a list of dates she performed the song and her outfits, which I don't think is suitable to be in an article about a song. *Seen a Mike* 18:06, 5 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
