- It's a Whale.to whale.to link. You already know why because you have been contributing to the RfC! InvictaHOG 22:45, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Alma Mater
editCan the Alma Mater for this page be verified? I'm can't find confirmation that Irwin Stone was any kind of doctor (PhD or otherwise) except the correspondence school kind. Any references to "Dr" Stone should be questioned. Jhbrown9 (talk) 06:47, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
how did he die?
editI read his book "Vitamin C Against Disease" thirty years ago, and was so convinced by it that I was going to write to the author. Then I found out that he was dead, in his seventies. This took a bit of a shine off my new enthusiasm for megadose ascorbic acid.
Does anyone know what he died of? This would be relevant information for this article. (Linus Pauling, incidentally, made it to 95). 101.117.27.85 (talk) 08:46, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
OK, I've found it out: "Unfortunately, Dr. Irwin Stone died on May 4, 1984, at the age of 77, while in Los Angeles to receive the award. He died by choking on regurgitated food, the result of a constricted esophagus that had plagued him ever since his car accident many years prior." (https://paulingblog.wordpress.com/tag/irwin-stone/)
I'll leave it to someone else to incorporate it into the main article ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.117.27.85 (talk) 10:12, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
