Bernheim Distillery

edit

The article says he founded the Bernheim Distillery Co., and operated the Bernheim distillery, and that he founded "the I. W. Harper brand of bourbon distilled at the Bernheim distillery in Louisville, Kentucky". But aren't those two different distilleries? This should be clarified. As I understand it, the current Bernheim distillery is operated by Heaven Hill Distilleries and is located at 1701 West Breckenridge St., Louisville KY 40210, just off Dixie Highway. I believe that is not the same place that was called the Bernheim distillery when Bernheim was operating it. And although the lead paragraph of the article refers to a Bernheim distillery in Louisville, the body of the article says something about going to New Haven to purchase a distillery. Was the original Bernheim distillery in New Haven or in Louisville? Were there two of them in Louisville? I. W. Harper seems to currently be a Diageo brand, according to their web site. But I don't think Diageo operates a bourbon distillery (e.g., they contract out the production of their Bulleit bourbon brand to Kirin, which produces it at their Four Roses distillery), so it seems unclear where I. W. Harper is actually produced. —BarrelProof (talk) 21:02, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I will bow to your knowledge. Capitalistroadster (talk) 23:35, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the deference. I wish I had enough knowledge to merit the bowing. Hopefully, in time, I will find the correct facts. —BarrelProof (talk) 23:46, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Prohibition

edit

The entry on Schenley Industries claims, there were only 6 distilleries authorized during Prohibition, not including I.W. Harper. Repkow (talk) 02:31, 31 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
