Execution method
editJust a quick query about the method of excecution as its not overly clear. It says a blunt wooden saw was used, now is this an error and should say a wood saw (a jack saw sort), or was an actual saw carved out of wood? That would be exceptionally blunt, but unlikely. I'm assuming it was the first option but several pages use the word wooden. Hellfire83 14:20, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm from Japan, and I suppose I know much more about Japanese samurais than people outside Japan. The execution by "wooden" saw is called "Nokogiri-Biki" (鋸引き). It goes this way: the sinner to be executed is buried in the ground to his neck; people who happen to pass by are handed a wooden saw, and told to try to cut the head of the sinner off. The execution may take a several days for the wooden saw is blunt. It's quite a brutal form of exection. However, I assure you that Mitsunari's execution was a normal decapitation. In Japan, there's absolutely no evidence for his death by "Nokogiri-Biki". I wonder where came this false description of his death. Leo777 05:58, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Presumably the wooden saw execution part comes from James Clavell's Shogun. The Japanese Wikipedia entry says only that his head was cut off. However, as I'm not 100% sure I have just put a 'citation needed' at that point. --Rsm77 (talk) 02:13, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Video Game Information
editThe large and detailed section on Mitsunari's video game appearances doesn't belong in a serious article about Mitsunari the man. A simple list detailing his appearances is more than sufficient. Doing otherwise detracts from the article as a whole.
The same applies for the video game picture. I have added a picture of Mitsunari the real person not Mitsunari the made up character in a video game. Having the cartoon only detracts from the seriousness of the article. Mordrid52 21:39, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
A simple list would be fine, but in the proper format, and perhaps with little details about the differences between fact and fiction. An example can be taken from any of the wikipedia articles on characters in the three kingdoms such as Guan Yu, which as a section on his appeareance in video games. --Patar knight 21:45, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
