The article states "There is a widespread belief in jinns, or evil spirits.", implying that this is not a part of mainstream Islamic belief, when in fact the existance of Jinns is mentioned many times in the Qur'an (examples As-Saaffaat 37:158, Ar-Rahmaan 55:15, Al-Hijr 15:27 and many many others). I don't know anything about the situation in the Maldives concerning other deviations from orthadox Islam, but the specific example of belief in Jinns should probably be altered. Perhaps a more knowledgeable editor could attempt it?--128.40.76.138 09:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I edited it, attaching the belief in jinns to the use of charms. Many Muslim countries have different types of charms still... but, I don't know enough about this either. gren グレン 10:41, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
" Ramadan begins with the new moon and ends with the sighting of the next new moon." How exactly do you 'sight' a new moon? Blaise 20:54, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
