Merging The transformation section into Birth of the GSIS Village High School section
editI feel that having one sentence for a section is insufficient! If no more is to be written, then it should be merged with the "Birth" section. Otherwise, I feel that more needs to be written about the transformation - this is not just an article for people with the specific book, who can read about the transformation!
Let me know what you think! PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 15:53, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Merging The IMSHS section into The Ismael Mathay Sr. High School and Pugad Lawin High School section
editA similar reasoning to the last one - one sentence doesn't really make a section! I think this could be usefully incorporated into the previous section. PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:00, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
The Mathays
editIt looks like several of the Mathays are notable enough that there should be separate articles about them. The biographical matter now in this article should be moved to those articles. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:29, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Copyright violation
editMuch of this article is copied almost verbatim from http://gsisvhsaa.tripod.com/id21.html That page is marked “© 2005 – 2009 George Magno Prado. This work is copyright.”
- This applies to the “History” section.
- Likewise in section “Birth of the GSIS Village High School” the first paragraph and the first sentence of the second paragraph.
- Likewise section “The Ismael Mathay Sr. High School and Pugad Lawin High School”

- Sadly, I had to remove all these copyright violations; also, I removed the "notable" alumni, as none of them were notable by Wikipedia standards. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Speedy Deletion Request
editI am removing the SD request - the article does not just contain the text provided by the creator, and other editors have worked on it. As such, it does not qualify for SD under that criteria. PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:08, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Some notes
editApparently the “GSIS Village” mentioned in the article refers to Government Service Insurance System (Philippines). Although I don’t understand what an insurance system has to do with a village, all the streets surrounding the location of the palengke school on this Google map have insurance related names. Unfortunately Quezon City does not mention GSIS Village and barely mentions Project 8.
This Google map shows the present location of the high school, adjacent to the elementary school. I assume that it moved there right after the 1976 fire, but I can’t find anything that says so in so many words. —teb728 t c 22:55, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- I intend on doing some work on this article next week - I'll see if I can find some sources and stuff. I'm curious about this insurance link... I'll see what I can find! PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 07:48, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
