edit"...introducing thousands of young men and women of various backgrounds to the city's mostly conservative fabric in the recent years."
editThis is a very interesting statement. It sort of suggests that university students from perhaps more liberal parts of Turkey - like Istanbul or the coastal cities - come to Isparta for university, perhaps in connection with the OSS system. Fleshing out some details on this or providing any sources - in either English or Turkish - would be really nice. For example, does the University in question have any statistics on where their student body comes from? Any information would be appreciated! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.101.248.94 (talk) 16:56, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Mentha spicata Labiatae and Isparta men
editI came to learn of this town through this article. It kind of reference the town in a funny way
According to the researchers, extracts of spearmint plant (Mentha spicata Labiatae) had been reported to reduce libido in men in a town called Isparta in southwest Turkey, possibly due to reduced androgen hormone levels.

Baris
editThe name Baris (in fact Baris Psidae) as reported, is wrong. The identification was a mistake in XIX century later corrected; the correct byzantine name was Saporda. --88.3.135.181 (talk) 13:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
