A better source is needed for the claim that Belkind was a founder of Rehovot. It is not mentioned in several biographies of Belkind, nor in several accounts of Rehovot's founding. It is not even mentioned that he was a member of the organization that founded Rehovot. I don't believe a remark in a modern newspaper article is adequate to introduce such a major event into his life that seems to have been unnoticed by specialist writers.
