Lonah Chemtai

No idea how to add a section, but Lonah Chemtai Salpeter qualified for the 10,000m MaskedSinger (talk) 15:22, 8 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I will add it in the weekend. Nimrodbr (talk) 20:17, 7 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks so much Nimrodbr! MaskedSinger (talk) 15:21, 8 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Just looked at the schedule Nimrodbr and this is the same day as the marathon. Don't think she's running the 10,000m and will just be running the marathon MaskedSinger (talk) 10:27, 9 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I know it's the same day. But there are 9 hours between the end of the marathon event and the start of the session of the 10,000m run. I believe she will only run in the marathon. However, I have not yet found an official announcement for this. Nimrodbr (talk) 10:51, 9 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Me either but assume it will only be the marathon. It can be changed once there's a source. Shame :( She'd be a real chance in the 10K MaskedSinger (talk) 15:30, 9 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

These should be added

edit

This article, which is updated periodically, now lists Israeli individuals who have qualified to compete in the 2020 Olympics who our WP article does not yet reflect. For example, the equestrians. Perhaps someone can add them. Thanks.--2604:2000:E010:1100:5594:B5A7:78B2:B1E3 (talk) 15:59, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not all the names of the athletes appearing in the article that have qualified for the games have been confirmed by the Israeli Olympic Committee.Nimrodbr (talk) 19:42, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
This RS says the shooter will be competing in Tokyo. We are supposed to reflect what the RSs say. 2604:2000:E010:1100:80F3:C5DD:3F48:803C (talk) 09:08, 23 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

"Medals by sport" & "Medals by day"

edit

Nimrodbr, Jr Tahun, Lucky102: Please discuss the need for such tables here, instead of re-engaging in an WP:EDITWAR.

As I see it, the tables do not add any information to page, as all 3 medals (and medalists) are seen in the main short list at the Medalists section. As this table is sortable, and no sports delegation has produced more than one medal and no more than one medal was won on any single day, I see the "Medals by sport" & "Medals by day" table as redundant at best and distracting at worst.
In short: I am in favor of removing them, at least until more than one medal is won in a single day or sport. Deancarmeli (talk) 09:46, 1 August 2021 (UTC) Edit: @Sportsfan 1234: Please explaine your reasoning for reinstating the table before joining anouther edit war. Deancarmeli (talk) 09:51, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

These tables are a part of every Olympic national page of medalling countries in recent Olympics, so if you would wish to have a discussion on all of them being removed, please go ahead and make that argument. Lucky102 (talk) 09:50, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
This statement is really not true. Take a look at the following pages Israel at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Portugal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Iceland at the 2008 Summer Olympics, Jordan at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Belgium at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Similar to what Deancarmeli presented. These tables do not add any new information about the existing table but they burden on the page visually. The tables are not mandatory by the manual style and in my opinion when there is no double-digit number of medals that makes the medalists' table very long there is no need for another table that summarizes it. This is currently being discussed on the relevant Wikiproject here. Please engage in the discussion there, so the discussion is in one place rather than being spread over several talk pages. This way we should be able to reach a consensus. Kaffe42 (talk) 19:41, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
