Writers

edit

Aren't all the writers on strike? Will this episode air on time? Llamabr (talk) 02:18, 3 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Redirect?

edit

Strangely, this article is redirecting to the list of episodes. I guess someone redirected it, because the article doesn't yet have much substance? Nonetheless, it had some substance (e.g., it used to tell me the air date). Llamabr (talk) 15:28, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The present discription is lifted from: http://tv.ign.com/objects/907/907453.html So I've deleted it, per wikipedia policy. Llamabr (talk) 18:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Theme

edit

When I saw this episode air, I thought it was kind of strange to have a christmas themed episode after the holiday season. Does anybody know why this is so? Is it because they had a christmas script ready to go, did the strike delay the episode, or what? QBasicer (talk) 02:02, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I remember seeing a late December airdate originally, so it probably just got bumped for a few weeks. 71.32.80.134 (talk) 04:58, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Prostitute

edit

Is there really any reason to believe she'll be a future love interest? House's behavior towards her didn't seem any different than to a number of other clinic patients over the prior seasons. 71.32.80.134 (talk) 04:58, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I deleted the implication that there was. - Shaheenjim (talk) 06:55, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also regarding how you call her the prostitute here, she is actually a prostitute, correct? The way she spoke seemed like she was, and their logical process of elimination regarding what Saint Nicholas represents, if she was following said logic, does make her one. I don't believe her acting in a nativity scene means she isn't a prostitute at all; she in fact specified that there was no reason to tell her mother, because it would only lead to her having to prove her righteousness. So she is actually a prostitute, eh? Currently, the final paragraph seems to imply that she turns out not to be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.177.120.179 (talk) 05:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
I removed that, I believe it is possible she is we have no fact that she isn't. Million_Moments (talk) 08:52, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
She was a prostitute. She had AIDS tests every three months, and her response to House's question "Does your mother know what you do for a living?" is very telling. Prostitutes go to church too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.193.49.104 (talk) 04:36, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not Metastatic

edit

It's not in this page but it's List of House episodes. I've changed it. Just want to tell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.8.87.117 (talk) 15:04, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sun King

edit

To words the end of the episode right after they find out she is going to die, Is the song barely playing loud enough hear, Sun King by the Beatles? Possibly worth mentioning since the beatles don't do that sort of thing often? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sir Joe Cool (talkcontribs) 01:08, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Atheist issue

edit

It has certainly been established that House feels there is no hereafter, only the here and now. He has indicated that more than once.
What about the episode with the patient who was electrocuting himself to see the afterlife? House then emulates his behaviour. There was some religious discussion in that one.
Varlaam (talk) 06:51, 18 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

In the episode Don't Ever Change (House) about the Hasidic Jewess, House says:

Religion is a symptom of irrational belief and groundless hope.

Varlaam (talk) 23:37, 18 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Although I wouldn't be surprised that House is an atheist, I don't think that quote confirms it. There are so many nuances to religious and spiritual beliefs (look at the number of Protestant denominations in the United States), that it is possible for someone to make critical statements about religion or the hereafter and not be an atheist. I don't know if House ever expressed any of his beliefs about a deity, but we need a clear statement about that specific point from an episode. Otherwise the atheist comment in the article needs to be removed as unsourced. Cresix (talk) 23:59, 18 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
I completely disagree.
House is 100% atheist and there are plenty of times when he has indicated that.
The article is fine; it just needs some precision.
This is why people regard Wikipedia as a joke. You can't say the sky is blue without a source.
Facts are facts. A citation is a formality.
Varlaam (talk) 09:19, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wrong. It may be a "fact" in your mind, but it is not an objective fact that someone who states that "religion is a symptom of irrational belief and groundless hope" is always an atheist. There are lots of people who are anti-religion but are not atheists. Just because you can't understand that doesn't make it any less true, and YES, everything that is challenged on Wikipedia requires a source. The statement about House's atheism has been challenged, and without a source it is subject to removal. And if people regard Wikipedia a joke, it is more likely because of editors who feel entitled to run roughshod over policies and assume they have been granted some special privilege to do so.
