"Calls of Soviet generals spurred on the soldiers, in addition. On January 12, 1945, army General Cherniakhovsky turned to his troops with the words: There shall be no mercy - for anyone, as there was no mercy for us... The land of the fascists must become a desert …" ^ a b c d e f Antony Beevor, Berlin: The Downfall 1945, Penguin Books, 2002, ISBN 0-670-88695-5 (Wiki article: Soviet war crimes) Why is this not mentioned in the article? As a commander of the Soviet forced, Chernyakhovsky was directly responsible of the war crimes commided to German civilians. Murder, mutiliation, rape etc...stuff like this: http://www.rense.com/general39/allied.htm62.240.82.87 (talk) 14:50, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

In the Hebrew Wikipedia it is pointed out that the Chernyakhovskyies were Ivan's adoptive parents and that the records concerning his biological parents have been lost, if they ever existed. establishing Ivan Chernyakhovsky's geneology is thus impossible. As for his religios faith. He had none.09:14, 4 January 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soz101 (talk • contribs)
