Thrud
editThe page on Thrud states Jarnsaxa was his mother JeffBobFrank 03:25, 19 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Jarnsaxa is not the mother of Thor's daughter Thrud nor is she is the mother of Thor's son Modi. Thrud's mother is Sif. The identity of Modi's mother is unknown (next to nothing is known about Modi. All we really know is that he survives ragnarok). --Ksofen666 18 January 2007
Gueber
editI'm reading 'Myths of the Norsemen' by H.A Gueber which state Jarnsaxa was Thor's first wife married who bore him Magni and Modi. I was wondering where the 'mistress' angle comes from. We have to keep in mind that the norse were polygamists. Looking now at the Skaldskaparmal its also translated as '[XXI. "How should Sif be periphrased? By calling her Wife of Thor, Mother of Ullr, Fair-Haired Goddess, Co-Wife of Járnsaxa, Mother of Thrúdr.'[1]90.195.111.233 (talk) 19:21, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
- Gueber's Myths of the Norsemen is a poor source on Norse mythology. You're likely to encounter all sorts of nonsense there. :bloodofox: (talk) 21:38, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
