The filmography chart

edit

I updated the chart with the newly announced Kraven the Hunter film but I don’t know how to add the color for the yes columns. Can someone help me with that? BruceYoho1 (talk) 23:32, 26 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Opening sentence

edit

I fail to see how cramming a phrase like "Academy-nominee" in the opening sentence brings any value to a reader. The lead basically tells one why he is notable, so having something like this only clutters up the area. Per MOS:INTRO, it seems too specific and some people will not recognize what it means as they don't have a specific level of knowledge on the entertainment industry (especially since it just states "Academy" and not the more unambiguous "Academy Award"). Most filmmaker articles (and most other biographical articles) will just state their nationality and occupations.

I've had two editors revert my edit on this without a valid explanation on why it should stay. If we really wanted to state that he received a nomination we should state in more detail with anther sentence (similar to M. Night Shyamalan, Martin Scorsese and Ridley Scott's leads), so I really don't get why we insist it exists in the opening, where such terms are usually not used.
