Charmian Bigg
editWho is Charmian Bigg? The name comes up in the "Death" section without a single word of explanation as to who this is. People who write/edit articles need to take a moment and read the article from top to bottom assuming no prior knowledge of the subject. You shouldn't just mention some name without explanation of who they are and what their connection is. Basic rules of writing still apply, even here! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.244.51.197 (talk) 16:34, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- Done. Charmian Biggs is Ronnie Biggs' ex-wife. Jim Michael (talk) 20:33, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Claim
editOne of the gang claimed that Mills attacked them. This is very hard to believe. One unarmed man will not normally attack a large group of armed men.
Based on what assertion?
A father defending his home, or his family? A Royal Protection Officer protecting the Queen? Perhaps Mills thought if he could repel them for a very short while, they could have put the train in motion again, and remove the attackers ability to board the train.
There are plenty of examples of people attacking others despite the odds, and you can virtually guarantee this is for good reason every time.
It does seem odd that one of the gang would claim this, after all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.120.222.100 (talk) 10:56, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
"When they got onto the train, they attacked Jack Mills with the back of an axe’s handle, and he suffered a black eye and facial bruising."
In the Great Train Robbery article however, it is claimed that he was attacked with an iron bar.

Jack Mills → Jack Mills (train driver) — While I do not mean any disrespect to the train driver, it is not clear that he is significantly more notable than any other person of this name. PatGallacher (talk) 00:16, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know, it appears the other two guys named Jack Mills with articles here are barely notable. This Jack Mills' involvement in the Great Train Robbery gives him pretty high visibility, including mentions in the press years after his death. Rejectwater (talk) 14:26, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Oppose as Jack Mills is the primary topic. Karry145 (talk) 15:02, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

"Jack Mills had severe brain damage and blows to the head"
editShouldn't "and" read "from", "because of", "due to" or something like that? Brain damage is an effect, whereas blows to the head are a cause - they shouldn't be equated by linking them with "and".213.127.210.95 (talk) 14:20, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
