Ajax, Acme, Wile E. Coyote, ...
editI think that instead of "Ajax thread" the article should be "Acme thread". done -Coolhandscot
- That sounds right (and explains why I couldn't find a Wikilink for the "Ajax" thread form). It was my mistake -- thanks for correcting it!
Jackscrew or screw jack?
editIsn't device shown here a screw jack, a device which employs a jackscrew.
A jackscrew is a more generalized device where a threaded rod rotates, and a nut moves along the length of the rod. As is used extensively in large aircraft or in space flight? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.133.239.162 (talk) 21:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- I would agree that screw jack is the predominant term for this device. I suggest an article rename if there are no objections. --Catsquisher (talk) 03:18, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- I also agree. The term "jack screw" can also refer to a screw used to position a surface or item. Wizard191 (talk) 20:49, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
