editAn article in the Solomon Times cites this Wikipedia article as source for Sir Jacob's knighthood. [1] Aridd (talk) 14:31, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
odd footnote caller
editThis footnote caller caught my eye:
he gasped a warning to Martin Clemens[3]:209–210 and Lieutenant Colonel Edwin A. Pollock,
The ':209-210' looks out of place. Perhaps it's the page numbers in the reference cited? 2001:569:FB6B:4100:9C25:8637:B977:377A (talk) 22:06, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

edit?? Was he a Marine? Then he wasn't an MD. If he was a MD, he was Navy. The Marines don't have their own doctors; they use Navy doctors. Perhaps he was Army, but the Army wasn't on Guadalcanal. Something is off with this. WhoAmIYouDoNotKnow (talk) 01:11, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- I checked against the source and he was not in it so I removed. Some checking shows that there were Navy medical officers used (but I don't think the Navy uses Lt. Col. as a rank). --Erp (talk) 04:14, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
- Navy and Coast Guard don't use Lt Col as a rank. Since the Marines don't have their own medical people, your edit is correct. WhoAmIYouDoNotKnow (talk) 12:56, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
