not really a biography

edit

This article isn't really a biography at all, but merely a discussion of Tati's films, which by rights should one section of a complete biography. Does the French Wikipedia have a better article that could be used as a source?24.81.25.127 (talk) 05:13, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

The French wikipedia entry has more biographical depth than the entry here. If I get the time, or if anyone else wishes to, I was going to do a full translation from the French entry here.

Way too much emphasis on The Illusionist.

edit

The current state of the article (at the time I write this) is giving far too much weight to The Illusionist. The man is one of the great notables of French film --I do not blame the section on The Illusionist (though it should probably become the subsection of a larger one), rather I blame the lackluster information on the rest of his career. EXPAND! This should be remedied by those in the know. --216.36.87.229 (talk) 22:39, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Writing credits?

edit

As far as I know Tati wrote all of his major films (Mon oncle, Play Time etc.) so why is it that he is only credited for The Illusionist?60.242.249.235 (talk) 03:18, 16 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

About the References

edit

Hi, I see that many references say "(Bellos 2002)" linked to "{harvsp|Bellos|2002|loc=1}" ("Bellos 2002, 1), « Une famille bien française : les Tatischeff »" for example, which I don't understand at all and, in fact, is it not really linking the reference with any page. What does it mean? Could somebody check it or give me an explanation. I would really appreciate it. Thank you! --F3rRan (talk) 20:28, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Normandy en erreur

edit

The article states that in 1935 he performed at a gala celebrating passenger liners crossing the Atlantic from Normandy. This is most likely incorrect. What happened in 1935, was that there was a great deal of publicity surrounding the SS Normandie, which came into service at that time and which made the fastest crossing of the Atlantic to date. Suggest a rewrite after a check of any Tati biographies. Theonemacduff (talk) 21:13, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
