Vandalism problems
editThis page has recently been vandalized with nonsensical spam, possibly the "Jake and Tom's friend spammer" described on the Long-term abuse page. If any administrator can verify the source of that attack, I urge him to deal with the problem as soon as possible. -- ISNorden 21:40, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Unlinked Entries
editI just removed an unlinked entry from this disambiguation page, however there are more. Why are these here? What is the point of a disambiguation page if there are no articles linked? 65.75.73.66 22:41, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Please Don't Blank
editAt minimum, the "Jake" disambiguation page is needed to help those who are looking for Jamaican ginger but only know the slang term, to find the proper article. The "Jake" article was originally the title of the Jamaican ginger article, but somebody decided that it should be moved and a disambiguation page added. Then, a lot of other "Jake" stuff was added, most of which is non-encyclopedic. If that decision is being reversed, please move the Jamaican ginger article back to "Jake" and add a redirect from "Jamaican ginger" to "Jake". Thanks. Suggested Change
editThe page states "Jake is a shortened form of the male names Jacob or James." Jake is a name in its own right, while it can be used as a shortened version of Jacob, people are christened Jake Prehaps change the sentence to something along the lines of: Jake is an English name, which can be a shortend form of Jacob or James 13:28, 24 February 2008 (GTM)
James?
edit- I have a different problem with this. Jake is a shortened form of James? I've never heard of this. Examples? Citations? Unschool (talk) 05:27, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm going to wait a few days, and then remove James, unless someone brings forth some evidence (and one example would not be enough, for reasons that I will explain if challenged). Unschool (talk) 12:59, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
