editSorry, I'm new to this, but I was surprised that there wasn't an article on JB Lansing. Not much time, might come back later and add more and work on the style. Useful links:

Differences between death dates.
editI happened to notice that this article's death date is 1949, while in the article for JBL it states that "Mr. Lansing, when in his seventies died by his own hand."
I've never edited or written for Wikipedia before so I figured I would leave it up to someone who knows what they are doing.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.198.231.208 (talk • contribs)
I'm a great grandchild of James B Lansing's, and just had to edit this page on the place of his death. The article for JBL that you mention is incorrect, he was 47 at the time of his death. Munin and hugin (talk) 00:11, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Powerful crystal sets
editThe article states He also built crystal sets which were apparently powerful enough for the signal to reach Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois.
This is very interesing, because a crystal set is a receiver that does not contain a local oscillator, and is completely incapable of transmitting any form of RF energy, being purely a detector of radio waves.
It is quite possible he did build some form of amateur transmitter, possibly a spark transmitter. If anyone has any research materials covering this, it would be good to get this corrected, as what is there now is clearly completely wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Loren.wilton (talk • contribs) 07:59, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
