Birthplace in Langhash
editI can't locate a town with this name in Ireland. How can it be checked to see if it is correct? -- K72ndst (talk) 13:32, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Confusion about multiple medals
editThere is some confusion as there were apparently two James Doughertys who won the MOH. One served in the Korean Expedition of 1871, and the other in the Civil War. Unclear whether one or both was from Ireland. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.101.195.70 (talk) 21:47, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
- I believe this to be a copy/paste error on the part of a very early online listing of Dougherty's citation. Other than the inclusion of Dougherty's name, the citation wording appears exactly like that of Seaman John Henry Dorman, U.S. Navy, under G.O. No. 32, 18 April 1864. I am updating the page to reflect the citation as recorded on the USMC Historical Division website and in General Order 169. KMJKWhite (talk) 18:08, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
