Untitled
editThis article needs a disambiguation between James MacDonald and this James E. McDonald. Further, the categories at bottom should consistently point to James E. Mcdonald rather than some to James McDonald and others to James E.
Verifiability
editI'm rather concerned that this entry is making a lot of unsourced statements concerning McDonal's intents opinions and relationships with others, as well as a lot of other unsourced references to his work.
It might all be 100% true (or not), but it should still be directly sourced through a citation from a third party such as a biographer or a press report.
WikiProject class rating
editThis article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 09:55, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
weasel words
editI read the article pretty closely and could find nothing that could be classed as "weasel words".
The tag: "This article contains weasel words: vague phrasing that often accompanies biased or unverifiable information." should probably be removed unless someone can point to something in the article that justifies its continued presence.Zedshort (talk) 20:52, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Do the comparison between now and 2009 when I tagged the article. It's actually much improved. I'll pull down the tag. Simonm223 (talk) 21:14, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Problem article
editAt a glance, more than half the article isn't even properly cited.
I would also suggest that many of the claims put forth in the article come from unreliable sources. Riffraff913 (talk) 17:00, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- A bit late in response, but those are valid concerns. The entire article needs attention. Here's an example of the editing task ahead: the University of Arizona's web pages for the history of their atmospheric sciences and hydrology departments/programs (see here and here) make no mention at all of McDonald. Nothing. That seems odd, if not actually weird, especially if he was such an instrumental figure there. An explanation might be that the information is sourced solely to Ann Druffel, who should probably not be considered a reliable source for, well, anything (see this). Much of the information in this page is similarly attached to dubious sources. So here comes and lot of snipping, and probably a lot of 'citation needed' tags. - Done with those edits for now. I remind everyone that this is supposed to be an encyclopedia, not a sensationalist, pro-woo tabloid. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 18:25, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
