editI object to this deletion. I cannot even contact Matthew Vernon, who is proposing the deletion. There has been no group discussion on the matter. Follett is a nationally known author, whose stature as one of the most lent authors in the UK is clearly stated in the article. The proposal to delete is therefore perverse in the extreme, if not actually proven as vexatious - which I would argue it actually is. I do not know who the article's author is but any deletion should be put to a consensual agreement, not by diktat with such a short time limit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jatrius (talk • contribs) 15:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- The lending status is currently unsourced, making it a bit hard to rely on... Ewx (talk) 07:50, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- PLR's Most-borrowed Authors Archive never lists James Follett (although it doesn't ever go as far as listing 400 authors.MatthewVernon (talk) 15:50, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I can't find any source for that "most lent authors"claim. Further, considering the criteria for "creative professionals":
- Regarded as an important figure or widely cited - doesn't apply
- Originating a significant new concept, theory or technique - doesn't apply
- created...a significant or well-known work...which has been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or multiple independent periodical articles - I can see no sign of this being the case
- their work has become a) a significant monument b) been a substantial part of a significant exhibition c) has won significant critical attention d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleris of museums, or had works in many significant libraries - ditto
So it seems to me that Follet meets none of the relevant criteria. MatthewVernon (talk) 10:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Earthsearch alone has "signifcant critical attention" [1]. Plenty of other works do too. DJ Clayworth (talk) 14:56, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't call Follett a creative professional, but he is popular. Heavens knows why. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.131.56.93 (talk) 15:52, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Biographical information
editThere is none, except that he born and died.
This is not an encyclopaedia article. It is merely a list of works. 86.139.218.171 (talk) 04:43, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
