Commissioner succession
editComissioner Grogan succeeded Loeb. See end of Year One, and The Man Who Laughs.
So it was Loeb, Grogan, Gordon, Akins and Gordon again. I guess that means that as time goes by and No Mans Land, Infinite Crisis etc are forgotten, Gordon will have been the perpetual Commissioner of Gotham City Police.Targetonmyback 23:50, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Sarah Essen
editI don't think that the section on Sarah Essen is entirely accurate because she was first referenced in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, but i'm not confident enough in that to change it myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Greenarrow420 (talk • contribs) 22:22, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah you're right, she did first appear in DKR. I'll change it. A gx7 (talk) 00:38, 20 February 2009 (UTC) Whoever did this did a remarkable job. Only thing not included was Jim Gordon's presence in Batman:Digital Justice as ancestor to a new Batman, also named Jim Gordon I think. Digital Justice is a Prestige hardcover One-shot that was , I believe, the first entirely computer-generated comic by DC Comics sometime in the early nineties, featuring the Joker as a virus. Check it out. J. Ramos Washington, D.C. 7/18/2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.178.175.237 (talk) 04:50, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Gordon and Batman's identity
editAre there any secondary sources that can be used to clean up and justify this? Right now the section is a collection of editor supposition with primary sources thrown in. - J Greb (talk) 01:47, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Plot tag and others
editThe bulk of the article consists of the FCB and plot dumps for the AV and IOM sections. An actual discussion, with cited secondary sources, of the character is desperately needed.
As far as the AV and IOM:
- The "Alternate versions" section needs to be consolidated down to a bulleted list. One or two line entries for each Elseworld or alternate dimension is unwieldy.
- The points should be succinct overviews, not drawn out retellings of the plot.
- The points can, and really should, be bolstered by material in a real world context. Reviews or critiques that critically examine the character or material from the writer(s) describing how the were going to vary Gordon from the normal Batman stories. These need to be referenced though.
- Cases where the character is only mentioned shouldn't be listed.
- The "In other media" section, though bulleted, has most of the same problems: mass plot dumps, fragmentation, metions as appearances, truly tangential comments, and a need of source commentary.
And to be honest, the Family section is really unneeded. - J Greb (talk) 02:19, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
Inconsistency about Jim Jr's capture
editThe "James Gordon, Jr." subsection ends with "[...] James Jr. is apprehended by his father and Batman (Dick Grayson) [...]", but the Dick Grayson article is about Robin, not Batman. What really happened there, according to the Black Mirror storyline? -- Jokes Free4Me (talk) 02:35, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Plot Summaries of TV episodes
editThey're really excessive and more suitable to the relevant Wikipedia articles (if any) of the TV shows themselves. They should be trimmed.
For example, instead of belaboring what he does every time he appears in Teen Titans Go!, maybe just mention that he is usually seen with Batman, with the two of them laughing about or at some random inanity in the show. 136.49.32.166 (talk) 21:13, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
