Soldier's Magazine article?
editBack in circa 1996 there was an article run in Soldier's Magazine about Hall. It had a picture of him being led off in cuffs. That issue would be an excellent source of information, but problem is that the magazine did not start publishing editions on the Internet until 2001. Anyone seen that or know how we can get a copy? I checked and online library reference. Online articles only go back to 1998. I think his time is also up. Someone in military confinement can expect to do at least 55-60% of their time, if not given parole.(Trentc (talk) 04:31, 11 February 2009 (UTC))
- I saw something on the SPIEGEL website today. A journalist went to the US for SPIEGEL TV, did find him and talked to him. The case caught my eye because I went to school near the Teufelsberg and because of the 'repatriation' of the files, plus nobody from STASI (some people must have seen and analysed them) talking about their contents. One person who was amongst those who stormed the STASI office in January 1990 saw how these (NSA?) files were put in one cupboard, wanted to photograph but was prevented. And then the files were gone .... Gauck's office never replied to my application for my late father's STASI file. Now he's the German President. I wouldn't have thought they'd make a lawbreaker president. The legal process should have been followed and the files should not have been repatriated without copying and archiving. Wouldn't happen again now, would it. 121.209.53.9 (talk) 06:32, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Hall and Assignment to Project CANOPY WING (U)
editAfter departing Germany, Hall was assigned to a covert SIGINT development project, nicknamed "CANOPY WING". The project was located inside a separate SCIF at Arlington Hall Station, VA. The group consisted of about 20 military personnel who had expertise in SIGINT and Microwave EMP weapons. Within the project, and presumably unknown to Hall, MAJ Dorothea Evergates was assigned as the project Administrative Officer. She was, in actuality, an Army Counterintelligence and SIGINT officer who had previously been assigned to the US Army Security Agency's station in Berlin. There was a second Counterintelligence Officer, an Army Warrant Officer Special Agent who was embedded within the project. 68.52.122.99 (talk) 21:01, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
