Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because it does not contain copyright-protected data.

The Copyvio Detector analysis shows lots of common language between my Wiki article and the jameshilleary.com website's Gallery Reviews page. The common language is because that page and my Wiki article both include references to his biography, the names of critical reviews that were published about Hilleary and some quotes from the articles, and lists Hilleary's exhibitions, so the language is obviously going to be the same. But if you look at the actual comparison, you can see that I did no wholesale cutting and pasting. In fact, all of the data came from my independent research, such as the dozens of newspaper articles and exhibition notices and other ephemera that I have collected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ssalb1 (talk • contribs) 02:44, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

• Comment I agree. The identical text that the Copyvios Report detects are either names of institutions, article titles, or quotes which are explicitly shown as quotes (in inverted commas), attributed to the source with a preceding description ("Washington Post art critic Benjamin Forgey observed that Hilleary ...") and followed by an inline citation to that source. That is not copyright violation, that is selectively quoting from relevant sources with clear and explicit attribution. I have removed the Speedy Deletion. PS Ssalb1, you may need to delete exhibitions for which you can't find other sources besides the artist's website, or they may still say too much is copied. RebeccaGreen (talk) 13:13, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
