Thanks for uploading File:James Hurt.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Proposed move

edit

Looks like to me that this article is about James Maurice Hurt, Jr., which is all right with me, but that, I think, should be the title of the article, not Sumunumus, for which name I see no explanation. Comments? I'll leave the move to a more experienced editor, as the issue of citations hasn't been addressed, either, and without them, deletion looks like a strong probability. There's a lot of interesting information here, though. I've had the opportunity to meet a few of the people mentioned, and hear them play, and if this cat plays with them, he's the real deal. 69.171.187.71 (talk) 23:46, 31 January 2012 (UTC), the RagitymanReply

I made a start on the copy edits and stylistic changes needed, and was almost insvantly reverted. My time is too valuable, to me at least, for edit-warring. I'll leave this one to an admin.

Revisit

edit

This article looks to be autbiographical, which is also all right with me, but probably won't meet NPOV standards. I like the abundant background information. However, if you create an article on Wikipedia, you MUST be willing to allow editing. This article no longer belongs to you, once you hit "save."

As an orhan, this article draws little attention, which allows it to continue in its unencyclopedic state. But, if no one sees it, what purpose does it serve? Please allow editing of "your" article, or remove it yourself. There are other wikis where an untouchable autobiography might be welcome. This is a village-created encyclopedia.

I hope you decide to join the community and keep "your" article up-to-date. Who better, and, personally, I'd like to follow your progress. 69.171.178.93 (talk) 22:50, 6 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

If nothing else, please clarify "between years 1998 and 1990." I'd fix it myself, but not sure what you intended.

I had a look at the edit history. You seem to have made two edits [1] and [2] and neither of them were reverted. Voceditenore (talk) 06:48, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing and notability

edit

This article is in dire need of reliable sources to demonstrate notability through substantial coverage or notability through other applicable criteria. Reliable sources should be cited inline to indicate the facts they support. Material in living persons' biographies must be sourced. Unsourced claims should be removed from encyclopedic biographies, especially when they present undue weight or are otherwise contentious. Below are some links that might lead to reliable sources to demonstrate notability, if any:

Happy editing! JFHJr () 04:21, 17 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I PRODed this article, but that was contested by an editor who found "reliable sources" that are clearly not substantially about the subject, except for an interview, which can never serve as a yardstick for notability. I removed the unsourced autobiographical drivel because it was overly promotional, quite WP:UNDUE (chronicling high school and college achievements not covered by anyone anywhere), and involved claims about living and dead third parties. If anyone has comments about this WP:BLP related edit, please feel free to leave a note here or at WP:BLPN (right now, the relevant thread remains active). Cheers!
