Ideas for updating disputed neutrality
editHi everyone,
A few of the "sentences" in this article are now sentences at all: Both "Definately not a defining solo artist, or a creative force" and "A vital and talented cog in the Pumpkins though none the less" are not sentences. They do not have verbs in them.
This might clear up the disputed neutrality of this article.
Perhaps a more recent picture of James Iha could be included in the article (not one from c. 1995). I look forward to your discussion. Paranoid-andrew 01:23, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
Removed
editI just removed the two sentances. People need to remember that it's not an opinion site as well.
I can probably get a few pictures... either from Take Me Down or just him with the pumpkins. He also has a few pictures of modeling.
Neutrality?
editI think that this article is neutral enough, now. However, it still needs to be cleaned up, as it jumps from one topic to the next without any transition at all.
DJ Iha
editI used to still have an club ad that had James Iha DJ'ing down here in South Beach, FL. Does anyone have the ad to ad and give more substance to James Iha's life?--Prequarius 17:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Iha james.jpg
editImage:Iha james.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Needs information on departure
editArticle needs information on the circumstances of his departure from the Pumpkins. Tempshill 05:09, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree although the details are a bit fuzzy.--Sugarcubez 05:18, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree as well. Especially since allegations made by Billy Corgan in his blog state that James was the one who broke up the Smashing Pumpkins —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.104.252.201 (talk) 14:45, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Why the Japanese translation of his name?
editHe is American, merely with Japanese roots. He doesn't speak Japanese. He clearly calls himself "James" and there is no mention of James/ジェームズ in the translation.
Spacecowboy420 (talk) 10:07, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- I was struck by this as well. He's an American of Japanese ancestry. Would you include a translation of John F. Kennedy's name into Irish because of his ancestry? There are some Americans with very strong ties to other cultures this might make sense for, but Iha is an American guy who grew up in the Chicago suburbs, whose primary language is English, and goes by "James"-- and I've never heard of him claiming any other identity. 104.162.126.140 (talk) 07:37, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Star Trek character named after James Iha
editIhat (In the first draft script he was called "Iha") was named by writer Joe Menosky after musician James Iha of the band The Smashing Pumpkins. Menosky explained that they were one of his favorite bands at the time of writing the episode.
