- No mention is made in your article of his role in turning away a mob bent on torching a church being built for slaves in July 1849 ( most likely risking his own & saving many lives in the process ). This information can be found on a plaque in front of where the African American church has been moved & is still in service. Might not one reasonably presume the plaque could not have been placed there without the consent of the congregants ?
Odd article - essay on family history
editThis is an odd article; while the authors may have found the Petigrus worthy of extended attention, they seem like an unhappy group dominated by alcoholics. I'm not sure why James' siblings are discussed at such length except as examples of "how the mighty have fallen." This does not seem to be an encyclopedic article, and even if the same couple wrote four books together on these people, data and assertions are supposed to be cited to specific RS, not a general attribution to four.Parkwells (talk) 23:38, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
