This person is still alive

edit

The article incorrectly indicates that James L. Stone passed away. I personally met him last month. Here is a link with a recent photo and more information about James L. Stone

I've fixed it, and added a lot of information from the link you provided. Thanks for the heads up. If you see something that is wrong like that, feel free to fix it yourself. Jwillbur 22:52, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Source now says he has died

edit

We now have Yahoo News, but I'll search a main-line news source: http://news.yahoo.com/medal-honor-recipient-james-l-stone-passes-away-200000531.html Bob305 (talk) 21:12, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
It seems the same article has been copied by a local TV station in SC where he lived http://www.abcnews4.com/story/20055737/medal-of-honor-recipient-james-l-stone-passes-away-at-89. Although the Congressional Medal of Honor Society is quoted, nothing is posted on their website yet. So I'll wait before I edit more. Bob305 (talk) 21:27, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

How many survived?

edit

The citation mentions that 6 were captured with him. Of those, how many survived POW camp and how many from the group that ex-filed prior to being overrun made it? Since he was 1lt was it a heavy platoon or just a regular 27-36 man platoon?
