Notability
edithow notable is this person? Blueaster 06:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, besides what's in the article, and being starting mlb on the #1 team in CFB, he's notable for being referred to by Lou Holtz as "Garralitis", "Laryngitis" and a few other malapropisms on ESPN.--Buckboard 10:28, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- The article seems to assert notability and I'm unsure why it was tagged. Rkevins 19:25, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think the fact that he is a captain on the defense of one of the top college football teams in the United States is notable enough. Of course, being the son of a famous pro wrestler is a bonus (though, of course, it wouldn't hack it on its own). -- Grev 10:13, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- As a member of WikiProject College football, I'd like to weigh in on this. Not only is he a defensive captain on a traditional college football power, he also won one of the major defensive awards in college football in 2006. While I can't speak for other WP CF members, I'd consider him easily notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. — Dale Arnett 06:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- As another member of WikiProject College football, I concur. Laurinitis was selected a first-team All-American by the Associated Press in 2006 and will likely and be high selection in the NFL Draft, whenever he chooses to enter. This thread began not only before last season ended, but also before major college football postseason awards were presented.Football79 05:36, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- I would certainly concur. He has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published reliable sources, apparently including articles in Sports Illustrated. He's been discussed at length on ESPN, appeared frequently on national television, etc. I think we can remove the tag - anyone disagree? --TheOtherBob 23:36, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Mother
editI heard that his mother was a bodybuilder. If this is true and is she's notable, shouldn't this be on the page? Just wondering (MgTurtle (talk) 18:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)).
