On 31 December 2004, he appeared on a Radio 4 Hamish and Dougal Hogmanay special. He played Mrs. Naughtie's son.

Does that mean that the character he had portrayed would be himself?? Does that need one, or two, additional sentences??

Fun Spoonerism

edit

If anyone wants to try to get this past the BLP zealots, here are some WP:Reliable Sources. This is probably the most notable moment of his career, so I don't think it would be WP:UNDUE to put a line in about it.

Sourcing alone is not the issue, there are matters of undue weight to consider as well. It would also be in your best interests to drop the heated rhetoric (i.e. BLP zealots) from your remarks in the future. Tarc (talk) 20:33, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'll have a go. The zealots have never bothered me and I have a large address block art my disposal.

Unfortunately for you (fortunately for us), the article is semi-protected. Tarc (talk) 20:42, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why is the Jeremy C/Hunt gaffe – which was covered in nearly all UK newspapers – deemed to be trivial, while Naughtie's appearance in an edition of Hamish and Dougal is apparently of great significance and importance? Please could someone offer objective criteria for this decision? Matthau (talk) 12:47, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Good catch. Removed. --Errant (chat!) 12:56, 7 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

What's "undue weight" got to do with anything? It's not a matter of opinion; the spoonerism definitely happened, and received significant media coverage. Why can't it be mentioned, then? 92.29.5.6 (talk) 22:29, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm wondering whether it's politicking which is keeping the spoonerism incident off Wikipedia...Marty jar (talk) 22:07, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Radio broadcasting

I believe that on November 6 2012, he is going to be some radio coverage of news of the U.S. presidential election. If any one knows more about this than me, he or she could add it to the article. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 20:11, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
