is Jamie Borthwick really born in June 23rd as in the past it said he was born in December 1993? Yes June 23rd is his birthday, it was always two days before mine so I never forget it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.149.225.22 (talk) 19:55, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- I've seen varying days, months and occasionally years for Jamie. Even on varying media outlets. At the time of Jamie's EastEnders character Jay being stabbed in January 2008, one newspaper reported the actor as being 13, another one reported him as being 14. Whats On TV has the birth year down as 1994. Piecing together various fragments of details from all over the Internet, I would be inclined to believe that the June 23rd date sounds "about" right but unfortunately I can't verify it to beyond reasonable doubt. Does anyone know how long his contract is at Eastenders? If you do, please tell me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Weatherbed (talk • contribs) 20:52, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- As stated by the BBC as per the "sacking" of the baby who played Oscar Branning back in September 2008, none of the child actors on this show are joined to the show in the same way as an adult actor would be. Child actors are licensed to perform by a local authority and then free to sign up to an agency or performing school. Jamie's handled by Sylvia Young's school in London, therefore any contract would be between EastEnders and Sylvia Young, not between EastEnders and Jamie. An option would be available I would have thought for each party to end the agreement that obliges Sylvia Young to provide Jamie and obliges Jamie to act professionally for EastEnders as per the needs of the production. To answer the question in a nutshell - there is no contract and providing appropriate notice has been given on either side, Jamie could leave the show tomorrow. - Dunno, schoolwork maybe? Exams? I know that's why Madeleine Duggan has reduced appearances recently and they're about the same age. I'm sure I've seen Jamie in EastEnders since Christmas though --5 albert square (talk) 22:39, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Jamie has been taking alot of time off for his GCSE exams but he will hopefully be filming more now since he finished school a few days ago. He was seen a few weeks ago for about 3 episodes thats about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.178.189.30 (talk) 20:21, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
