  • A drive-by comment, but it might be a good idea to give a brief description of what the Gothia Cup is since the hook seems to depend on the Gothia Cup being a big deal, but most audiences outside Europe might not know that it is important. • True. Actually, it's a worldwide tournament, and even being an English football fan I'd not heard of it. But it's a huge competition. The first hook is more to do with the actors shooting scenes for the series from actually for reals playing in the competition. I'll make a change to the wording. • This article qualifies as a five-fold expansion and is new enough and long enough. The ALT0 hook facts are cited inline and I have struck ALT1, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright or plagiarism issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:39, 21 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

plot

edit

I'm trying to copyedit the plot and having a hard time, as I don't know the subjects (either the show or the sport) at all. For instance,

Jamie Johnson (Louis Dunn) is a teenage boy living with single mother (Emma Stansfield) and grandfather obsessed with association football, and fan of Halkstone F.C., with rival team Foxborough United. Is it his mother, grandfather, or Jamie or all three who are obsessed and fans of?

Indeed, they are all fans of the sport, and the fictitious team. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:38, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Johnson successfully gains a place in the academy, but for Foxborough, and leaves the academy due to not being able to play for other clubs, with Simmonds being dropped from his academy for his attitude. I have no idea what this means. gains a place in the academy, but for Foxborough -- didn't the two schools merge? Where's he go if not to that merged school? Is it because he's in Foxborough that he can't play elsewhere? Which academy was Simmonds dropped from?

The academies are not associated with the schools, but rather the football teams (not the same thing). Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:38, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Due to having Johnson in the team, the team gain the sponsorship of "Tenjin", who spend money on the club, being used as the academy for a Non-league club. Why does Johnson bring Tenjin, and who is/are they? What does "being used as the academy for a Non-leaque club" mean?

He impressed the company with his skills (I'd suggest), nothing really gets explained about them to my knowledge, just that they are a big organisation that sponsors a lot of football teams and players. Not a clue what they actually do. / so, the earlier bit about the academies - most professional clubs have their own academies, to train young players. When Phoenix is created, it gains the sponsorship along with being the official academy of a lower league (non-league literally means below the fourth league in English football, see Nationwide Conference.) called for Johnson to get called up to the first team for the following season. So is this saying making the quarterfinals means Johnson will get called up?

No, more his performance and his demeanor. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:38, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also unclear about this from production section: Many episodes of the series feature cameos from current and former players specifically for the show, due to the show being produced by the BBC. Why does the show being produced by the BBC cause cameos? And what does "specifically for the show" mean? Wouldn't any cameo be specifically for that show? --valereee (talk) 16:13, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

So, the BBC has contracts with a lot of former players (Alan Shearer, Gary Linear, Ian Wright for their Match of the Day show, which is why they got to use them. Others were just cameos, but quite a few were whilst filming other segments for other TV shows. / The second bit is completely right - remove. Also and having never met some of the cast previously Does this mean 'never having met members of the cast who would be playing as team members in the event'? --valereee (talk) 16:16, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, some of the team that played in the tournament had never previously met. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:38, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Plot sections aren't really my thing - thanks for taking a look at this Valereee. I will try and work my way through the article myself as well. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:38, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, plot sections aren't really my thing, either, lol...I'm not a creator of articles that need them. Thanks! --valereee (talk) 17:52, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'll take tournament summary sections over these anytime. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:00, 13 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Viewership

edit

I hope this is OK to add to the page. I added the ratings for the series. Season 1 ratings weren't available. Ratings for season 2 - 4 are available (except two episodes). Season 5 ratings I will add each week when these final numbers are posted.

I hope that this addition to the page is OK? Liam74656 (talk) 15:01, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Liam74656Reply

Season 5 E-Sports Special

edit

As this was a special in the episode number column I put it down as S02 (meaning Special 02). I didn't want to count this as episode 51 or the 14th episode of season 5. I would like to see if what I have put in is alright with the S02 in the two columns as it is not an episode of the series that carries the seasons stories. Liam74656 (talk) 00:49, 1 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yep, you are correct the special has nothing to do with the plot of series five with only being made as result of Louis Dunn's character's main plotline in series five in which his character is mostly focused on playing online football as a result of their broken leg. 123typewrite123 (talk) 19:19, 15 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jamie Johnson TV show Series 7

edit

What I added in the description for series seven is correct. The description for series seven on BBC iPlayer says this: 'One last shot for glory.' Subtly hinting that this series will be if not mostly likely, the final series of the programme. I updated the number of episodes to two now since two episodes have already been released. 123typewrite123 (talk) 19:08, 15 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Adding info for series 7 is fine but series 7 has not been announced as the final season so please don't include this information on the page until the BBC make an announcement or the cast or producers.
Trailers are always mis-leading so you can't use that as true information. Liam74656 (talk) 15:17, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

edits

edit

Can people stop taking down my edits. My edits are all correct. For the edits of when a character first and last appears in an episode is all correct. I meticulously skimmed through every episode of Jamie Johnson on BBC iPlayer to do this so yes, I have proof it is all correct. So why am I finding that my edits are disappearing? It could unknowingly be my doing or a glitch or people are deleting it. Please stop. 123typewrite123 (talk) 20:09, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jamie Johnson FC

edit

EXCLUSIVE: Jamie Johnson FC Trailer ⚽️ Coming 2023 | CBBC - YouTube.

Jamie Johnson FC is not the same show as Jamie Johnson. The trailer features a vast array of brand-new characters who have not been seen in Jamie Johnson. So is Jamie Johnson FC secretly Jamie Johnson series 8 and (?) onwards? Looking back, the trailers for new series on Jamie Johnson were never shown instantly after the last episode of the previous series. And the obvious word addition going from Jamie Johnson to changing to Jamie Johnson FC, It's not series 8 of Jamie Johnson but mostly likely a new show possibly a spin off highly linked to Jamie Johnson. The few heart-warming montages shown at the last few minutes) of the final episode of the seventh series of Jamie Johnson show that series 7 is the last series of Jamie Johnson and that Jamie Johnson FC is a direct spin off show of it.

This my opinion on it. We'll have to wait for official confirmation though from the BBC and/or the Jamie Johnson producers.

It has been confirmed Jamie Johnson FC is indeed a spin off show from Jamie Johnson, so that means Jamie Johnson has indeed ended. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123typewrite123 (talkcontribs) 21:30, 17 November 2022 (UTC) Also, can someone with better expertise on Wikipedia edit the cast & character table to Mr Hilary Hansard on the line series 7 as he appeared as a guest for a few minutes in episode 12 of the seventh series of Jamie Johnson.Reply
