"These should still be decided on a case-by-case basis, based on an actual analysis rather than simply "they're bad"." you do not have a broad consensus, or policy basis, to remove images. please discuss before unilaterally removing reliable sourced content. --Turktimex3 (talk) 16:11, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Controversies

edit

Looks like this section is under attack by several unverified users: DubbSteps420, Pinetree27 and Citizen Kane 3 B. I was accused by ToBeFree of "continu[ing] to restor[e] the disputed material" then ToBeFree threatened to block me from editing pages. Shall we have a consensus as to whether this topic shall be included rather than threatening people? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ReidLark1n (talkcontribs) 23:18, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

To ensure that these concerns are noticed by experienced users, I have added a section at WP:BLPN#Jamie_Margolin pointing here. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:25, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Here are some articles which at least form the foundation for discussion:

I don't really want to get involved in this, but I did notice that there was a source in the paragraph prior to its removal, so that is worth mentioning. 47.227.95.73 (talk) 23:29, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
The accusation verifiably happened. There is a court document cited. The question is whether the topic is covered by § Public figures. ReidLark1n (talk) 23:34, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
It also appears that User:Citizen Kane 3 B, the user who removed the disputed content, has now been CU blocked by Materialscientist. 47.227.95.73 (talk) 23:38, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Make that all three of them. 47.227.95.73 (talk) 23:46, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Details about the CU blocks. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:50, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a single usable source for a BLP. Court Documents are not usable, NYU is a college student, not a bonafide journalist and Yahoo is apparently an editorial from NextShark who has no actual identifiable editorial controls. Slywriter (talk) 01:14, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
That is interesting instead. I do believe this BLP loophole allows public figures to evade otherwise accurate reporting from primary sources and secondary sources that fall short of a level of notoriety New York Times, etc. Se La Vie. ReidLark1n (talk) 16:23, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
or re-affirms that we are not a WP:TABLOID and not everything that happens is documented in Wikipedia. As we have WP:NODEADLINE, we can patiently wait for sources to catch up.. or not. Slywriter (talk) 23:12, 27 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
