editHello groupmates ~ Let's work hard for this Wiki project !!!! 0101sandraho06 06:23, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi,everyone~ I have a question. How can we put an image on our page if we don't have a license of using that photo?0101melo06 0:58, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Ah... I don't know indeed... but if we copy the images from The Jane Goodall Institute website, I think those pics have already got a logo on the bottom left... we can use that, right? :p 0101sandraho06 03:49, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh no ! I have added an image on our page, but it said that as we don't have a license, the image will only exist for seven days !!! What shall we do ??????? 0101sandraho06 04:12, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Let me try to email them. See if we can get the license. 0101melo06 0:04, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
I have already emailed them. Let's wait for their apply. 0101melo06 10:10, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
What else can we include for this institute... I cannot find any more :( 0101sandraho06 04:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
They don't answer me!!!!5555555555555555 0101melo06 2:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
i can't think of any more things to add in the page too! maybe we can look at other group's work to get an idea la
I think we can put some photos..... but how come they didn't reply us about the license...0101sandraho06 12:29, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
I am still trying and communicating with our tutor. BTW I added related articles and forgot to log in. And sandra, I move your news to that part is that ok? 0101melo06 21:23, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Links
editThere seems to be some problems with the 2 National Geographic English news articles'and the Chinese article's links. 0101crepe06 15:17, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Melo, surely u can move my news ~ We make this site together !!!! And Crepe, I have already fixed the links 0101sandraho06 16:44, 25 October 2006 (UTC) Thanks for telling me ! 0101sandraho06 16:44, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi, perhaps we can move the publications list somewhere else? It seems a bit out of place. Just a thought, thanks. 0101conrad06 19:03, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Any ideas how we can compact the list? Another external link, maybe? 0101crepe06 03:27, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I think we should work more on our articles and let them become more reader-friendly. 0101melo06 18:12, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, guys~ let's have a vote about the publications list. I think conrad is right. Is the publication list should be concluded in our website? Or put it at the bottom of the page? Coz it is not that related to our title... 0101melo06 21:20, 26th October 2006 (UTC) I think we can make another external link. 0101melo06 21:27, 26th October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah surely. I think the publication column is too long. But is there any external links for this ? Btw, we can try to include some of her publications but not all, lets say 3 or 4 books.0101sandraho06 15:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I forget to log in before I edit the page.....55555 How can I make up for it? 0101weiyi06 00:09, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Hope that Hannah will check the discussion page as well.....:( WHAT ELSE should we put into this page........... 0101sandraho06 16:15, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

editHi, Wei Yi. I was also present at the CNN interview, so I've uploaded a few images as well. I like your photo as it shows the interview setting. Maybe you'd like to adjust your photo size to make the page more balanced? 0101crepe06 23:21, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Really appreciate your photos!!!!! You really did a good job! And what else can we do for this page...I have no idea...0101melo06 10:08, 27th October 2006
I'm doing some proof-reading. Perhaps, some re-formating can be done as well. 0101crepe06 14:03, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
OK. I'll adjust the photo0101weiyi06Thanks, crepe~~ 0101weiyi06 1:23, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
For the photos, I am wondering if they will be deleted as we don't have license... although the pics are from our own DC...0101sandraho06 03:54, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I think the photos taken by ourselves won't be deleted. Maybe we can ask our tutors in coming week's tutorial. 0101melo06 12:16, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
There are sth. wrong with the web... Sometimes I logged in and contributed but it just show my ip address but not my id!!!!!! I did Jane Goodall and her chimps. 0101melo06 14:57, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree with melo! I got some photos about Jane's trip to Shanghai visitiong the roots & shoots several yeas ago, will it be too demoded to put on? 0101weiyi06 17:53, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
The copyright issue of our photos....it should be all right, as our tutor Hannah, who was present during the interview, told me that using our own photos could avoid the copyright trouble. But I wonder if the Jane Goodall quotes we've included on the page would infringe any copyrights?! 0101crepe06 13:23, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Quotes
editOh..... I am the one who add Jane's quotes...... but I forgot where I found these quotes... well, I try to find out the source..... If I find it, do I just add "copied from xxx.com" ?0101sandraho06 15:29, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey~ I think we should work more on the Institute of Hong Kong. As we now only have a section of Roots and Shoots. 0101melo06 22:18, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Ya Melo... u are right ~ but its really hard to find information of Jane Goodall Insitute (HK)! 0101sandraho06 16:23, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Maybe we can make our own headline picture of the JGI~~ Agree with sandradho~~It is really hard to find something about JGI(HK). Most are about only JGI... 0101weiyi06 01:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Because it doesn't have a long history. Maybe we can search their functions year by year? 0101melo06 3:42, October 2006 (UTC)
Coz the pic is about the Shanghai visit, I think one is enough. 0101melo06 19:35,31 October 2006 (UTC)
November
editShould we move the list of honours to the Jane Goodall page instead? It doesn't seem to relate with the institute. And maybe we can replace the existing quotes with things she has said about the institution? Thanks. 0101conrad06 05:23, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Something important I'd like to mention: in the tutorial group today, we're once again reminded to maintain a Neutral Point of View in our entry. To make our page more appealing, we must be more critical about the organisation we're writing. Unlike the offical homepage, we're not supposed to promote the organisation. Do you think we should cut out the membership section?0101crepe06 15:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Another reminder from our tutor: we should cut out information instead of adding more. Quality counts more than Quantity :) 0101crepe06 15:43, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
are you referring to the 'gaining membership' part? i also think this part needs some amendment too! what do others think?
I agree with you Crepe. In the remaining days. Let's work on the articles and the overall structure of our page!0101melo06 0:25, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Good suggestion! Our tutor also said that we should emphasize what has the institute done successfully to make a clear impression to the readers. 0101weiyi06 2:45, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Should we rethink of the shanghai part in the page? I think we can use the pic but delete the sentences and give the pic a intro, like Jane Goodall and the R&S group members. What do you think? 0101melo06 16:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
