Jane and Finch is not a neighbourhood
editBased on "Your Guide to Toronto Neighbourhoods" by David Dunkelman and Published by Maple Tree Publishing Inc., "Jane & Finch" area is part of Elia Neighbourhood.
Please refer to. http://www.torontoneighbourhoods.net/search/search_northyork.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.95.96.225 (talk) 16:01, 21 January 2007 (UTC).
Jane and Finch may not be an official neighbourhood, but it truly is a neighbourhood. If it isn't, then Church and Wellesley isn't either. Blackjays 03:05, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
The Showcasing the Black Creek West Community Working Group is one of five working groups that are a part of the Black Creek West Community Capacity Building Project. This project is funded by the City of Toronto and focuses on “improving the quality of life for residents living in the Black Creek West (Jane-Finch) community by placing emphasis on building on assets and capacities, prevention, community involvement, diversity and community well-being.”
Our working group’s goal is to “create a new and valued image of the BCW community by using the media to profile and market aspects of the community locally and nationally.”
Jane-Finch is a community that is often negatively portrayed and stereotyped within the media. Our working group identified that the information presented on Wikipedia in June 2006 was an unbalanced portrayal of the Jane-Finch community. As a result, we have made some major editorial changes to the information in order to present a more balanced description of this community.

The word "class"
editI really don't think the word "class" should be used, as in: As well, there is a substantial and equally diverse population living in middle class detached, semi-detached, townhouses and high-rises.
It gives a very negative tone. Instead, I think it should be replaced with something like middle income instead. xero 17:15, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Response
editThat's something you're going to have to get edited in the dictionary, not an encyclopedia. My family is middle class, that's a fact. That's the only thing that class means, which is pretty insignificant if you think about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.167.8.205 (talk) 06:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Kardinal Offishal
editEveryone knows Kardi is from Scarborough...Its a sad day when the fools who are running this/editing this page are supposedly FROM Jane and Finch, and put that a man from clear across the city ever resided in Jane and FInch, and deny that George Reefah from Shoreham Ct., young deuce, from Driftwood CT., or Corps Ent. from the Grassways are from there...SAD...The makers of this page claim that the media misinforms the public about this place...We'll congrats, you've become a statistic!!! Stop misleading the public, start represent the realness of Jane and Finch. The things I write up on Young Deuce are real. Point blank, period
ANYONE READING THIS, YOU CAN OFFICIALLY CHECK WIKIPEDIA'S PAGE ON KARDIAL OFFISHAL, AND SEE WHERE HE RESIDES/RESIDED WHEN IN THE CITY OF TORONTO:
DIRECT QUOTE: Kardinal Offishall (born Jason Harrow on May 12, 1976 in Scarborough, Ontario) is a Canadian hip-hop MC and producer of Jamaican descent.
- Young Deuce is just jealous that Kardinal is signed to Konvict Muzik. Yes he did use to live in Jane-Finch, but obviously Young Deuce just wants to expose Kardinal's weaknesses to better themselves. POSERS!! 24.85.20.33 22:38, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Young Deuce Representative
editEveryone knows that Young Deuce, C4 and Jett Black, George Reefah and 5 Deutsche; even Chuckie Akenz are really from and can been seen once in a while around Jane and Finch even if they do not live there any longer...Jully Black is from Jane and Finch...Uptop...Driftwood...Her name aint even on this shit...Luther Brown (Doo Dat) is from Jane and Finch...Uptop...Driftwood...Kardinal NEVER heard or seen this kat...besides a half clip in the Barkadi Slang video he prolly ran up, shot at the corner and left...Either that or he never got into any shit and stayed inside because as long as I've lived here and known all the people from playing ball, I aint never ever seen that guy on any of the Jane and Finch Blocks...Nobody has no early mixtapes of him around here...he never used to come around and hustle them...Maybe he messed wit some broads up here...but who don't...hoes are hoes...lol...and as for Kardinal...and a Young Deuce Representative...Them Jelous of Kardinal? NEVER...We respect that he reps the city everywhere he goes...But we get ours...just like he gets his...With the exception that we can walk around the city...Go anywhere...and be respected...just like any other rapper in the city EXCEPT Kardial...Why that is...Dont blame me...As for Posers we'll, go find them or any other rapping in this city...and see what time it is...This is after all...Jane and Finch and any other blocc...one —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThaDeuceCity (talk • contribs) 17:23, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh? While it is true that this aria has a reputation for crime, I very much dough that murder is a weekly event. If perhaps someone could include a section, that would be wonderful--70.52.160.56 (talk) 18:58, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Indoor Plumbing?
editIs there any documentation that can be made available for the statement that 62% of residents do not have indoor plumbing? Crcgirl (talk) 04:31, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that sounds made up. I'll remove it. A.Roz (talk) 19:26, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Discussion
edit- Any additional comments:
- Oppose. This neighbourhood has been known, colloquially, as "Jane and Finch" for decades. Jane and Finch is actually located in the boundaries of two city-designated neighbourhoods: Black Creek and Glenfield-Jane Heights. East of Jane and Finch, there is already a city-designated York University Heights neighbourhood. Blackjays1 (talk) 08:02, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

When talking about the ethnic make up of the neighborhood, it doesnt make sense to classify Europeans and Italians seperatly. Fix it

Italians aren't grouped separately they're mentioned as the main white ethnic group.
