Charlie Hebdo not even in the lead?
editWhy is it the Charlie Hebdo shootings are not even mentioned in the lead? It was the central incedent. Curly Turkey ¡gobble! 03:20, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
Marseille shooting
editI'll need to link to this somewhere, could be a separate article. reuters and ABC -- Aronzak (talk) 13:32, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- looks like it's just a gang shootout, no connection to Charlie though that was speculated in initial reports. -- Aronzak (talk) 14:38, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Mosques or Synagogues ?
editIn the article it's stated Numerous other smaller incidents of attacks on mosques have been reported, but have not yet been directly linked to the attacks.. I've seen this been interchanged before, and find it a bit strange that mosques (Muslim) should be a target here. According to The Independent "It's cartoonists, it's journalists and it's Jews. […] The Israeli Defense Force operation triggered a sharp rise in attacks on synagogues in France and shouts of "Death to Jews" on the margins of protests. "[2]. Nsaa (talk) 10:49, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- I removed the text in the summary section, it was both misleading and saying much more than what the sources covers of actually grave incidents like attacks, since only two incidents has been documented and reported (one with shooting and one with a grenade) in the section 2015_Île-de-France_attacks#Incidents_at_mosques. Removed "Numerous other smaller incidents of attacks on mosques[citation needed] have been reported, but have not yet been directly linked to the attacks. Hypercacher Kosher Supermarket or Porte de Vincennes siege
editFor a number of reasons it would seems logical that this article should refer to the Hypercacher kosher supermarket siege rather than after the location where it happened. Firstly almost all references in the main Hypercacher Kosher Supermarket/Porte de Vincennes siege article refer to the Hypercacher kosher supermarket in the title, not Porte de Vincennes. Secondly, very few contemporary English language news reports included Porte de Vincennes in the headlines, but instead referred to the supermarket. Thirdly, the associated Charlie Hebdo shooting is named after the target, not the location, for consistency then this should also apply to Hypercacher Kosher Supermarket as well. And finally, Coulibaly targeted the kosher supermarket for what it was, a Jewish target, and not because he was targeting Porte de Vincennes. Clivel 0 (talk) 06:59, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
First of the attacks x2
editThe article mentions the "first attack" as occurring in december 2014, yet the "first and deadliest of the attacks" was the Charlie Hebdo shooting. I did not want to pub-edit a topic without confirming, yet this wording is ambiguous. 68.229.229.137 (talk) 07:42, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
