So-called "Republika Srpska" was never state, it was quasi-state during the war in Bosnia and today it's just political region - entity. So change "state" to "temporary quasi-state" or something like that. 77.77.212.14 (talk) 12:32, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

The format for the 1923 Event is inconsistent with the other years that have multiple entries. This should be corrected. Loves2splooge89 (talk) 20:43, 20 November 2018 (UTC)

less-than-interesting
There are certainly a lot of less-than-interesting people on this page. Do we really care about ONE Miss Teen USA from one state in one year? Who is Anne de Bretagne (WHICH Maximilian did she marry), and why does she rate other than because she married him? What is KZ-Lower Drancy? -- Zoe
- I was thinking the same thing. The less than famous people needn't be listed at all and the minor actors, music performers and sports figures can be farmed-off to sub-lists. How about January 9th in the performing arts and January 9th in sport? --mav
- I can agree for January/February/.. 1/2/3/4/.. in sport, and I can provide information at least about football-related people (businessmen, footballers, coaches, days of foundation of sport clubs etc) .. webkid 20:52 25 Jul 2003 (UTC)
Judith Krantz
How many authors called Judith Krantz are there and were they born in 1928 or 1937? Google favours 1928 by about 3 to 2.

Probably a vanity entry, posted on Jan 15/16, 2004 in this edit by IPs 82.84.195.249 and 82.84.196.92, a dial-up server of Tiscali in Italy. Google indicates that he might be an Italian student doing research in magnetism. Lupo 07:54, 18 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- 1983 - William Hoffe, South African intellectual and philosopher
He's no one of any importance, and probably won't ever be either.
Recordings
I do think the list of recordings adds to the value of the day entries, but it should possibly be on a separate January 9 in music page, linked from here. NB: What does the w. and m. in the list mean?—Eloquence 03:33, Mar 28, 2004 (UTC)
- It's certainly not self-evident but it appears it's words and music. -- Nunh-huh 03:36, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Opening of first section of London Underground
I've seen elsewhere, including London Transport website and main article on Wikipedia, that the first stretch opened on January 10th not 9th. Can anyone else confirm this? Sophisticated penguin (talk) 13:23, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Interesting property
Should this day be known to be read as 1/9/yy (19yy) ? 187.133.53.25 (talk) 19:16, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Famous Birth on 1993
I think someone is using this to wish Abby Chambers a happy birthday. Unless she is a famous person 81.154.200.22 (talk) 13:17, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Fixed. Thanks. Winston365 (talk) 02:29, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
London
This is the second time in a few days I've seen London referred to as 'London, England, Great Britain' or some such similar nonsense. While London might be theoretically ambiguous because there are nearly a dozen towns and cities of that name, the English London is taken as a dominant-enough meaning that London has that meaning and a link to a disambiguation page. And if anyone is really wondering which London is meant, they could just click on the link. Can we refer to London as London? GoldenRing (talk) 09:44, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

I would like to suggest adding 1995 Birthday of Aaron D. Beckwith, United States track and field athlete. 129.232.48.244 (talk) 09:27, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

The entry "Phi Beta Sigma fraternity was founded atHoward University" is missing at the end. Also, a space needs to be added between the words "at" and "Howard University" so they are not smooshed together. 98.210.124.96 (talk) 22:51, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
- Partly done: It's not clear what you mean by the entry being missing. I have, however, fixed the space error Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 23:23, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

- Not done. As a side note, Wikipedia is not a reliable source, although there are some at that article that could be used instead. However, it's hard to see this being particularly important enough to include here. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 18:03, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
